Meanwhile, DC’s Black Lightning has been a big hit, while Riverdale offers a new take on Archie Comics lore. Now, The CW has teased future plans for both franchises. At the Television Critics Association tour this week, The CW president Mark Pedowitz talks about the shows’ futures. Supergirl Casts Vice President in Brent Spiner
Brent Spiner will be recurring as Vice President Baker when Supergirl returns this fall. Baker is “described as “Adept and politically minded”” and proves himself to be an unlikely leader when his country needs him most. Could this be a sign President Marsdin will fall? Hmmmm… Spiner isn’t the first new cast this season for Supergirl, and he probably won’t be the last. Nicole Maines(Nia Nal/Dreamer), Sam Witwer(Agent Liberty), April Parker Jones(Colonel Haley), Rhona Mitra(Mercy Graves), David Ajala(Manchester Black) will all join the cast in series regular or recurring roles this season. And of course, we can’t forget Jesse Rath(Brainy) will be a series regular this season, filling the holes…

SUPERGIRL Movie in the Works at Warner Bros. and DC Films
As Warner Bros. continues to restructure its DC Films slate, yet another title has been put into development. 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox scribe Oren Uziel has been hired to write a new movie starring Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. The project is in very early development (directors aren’t being approached yet), but this comes at an interesting time for Superman on film. After starring in three movies, Henry Cavill’s Superman has been waiting for another solo film. But with his three movies getting polarizing reception and Cavill’s new contract negotiations with WB not finalized, fans have wondered what’s next for the franchise. Well, Supergirl could create a new…

LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Won’t Be Part of the Next Arrowverse Crossover
Fans were excited to hear that this year’s annual Arrowverse crossover event will center around Batwoman and Gotham City. In fact, Batwoman is going to be the star of her own series soon. However, it looks like one show won’t be part of the event. According to Entertainment Weekly, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is sitting out this year’s crossover. The event will consist of Supergirl, Arrow, and The Flash. No reason why Legends will be absent. It’s also unclear if this rules out any Legends characters in the event or just its episode that week.
