The LEGO Movie was a huge hit back in 2014, and since then, Warner Bros. is building a cinematic universe based around the film. The first spin-off, The LEGO Batman Movie, hits theaters this weekend, with The LEGO Ninjago Movie dropping later this year. SUPERGIRL Casts Kevin Sorbo in Mysterious Villain Role
The other day, it was announced that Lois & Clark star Teri Hatcher is playing a key new villain on Supergirl this season. Now, the CW series has cast another familiar face as another enemy. The network has announced (via Entertainment Weekly) that Hercules himself, Kevin Sorbo, has join the cast of Supergirl. He will recur this season as a currently unnamed villain. Other details, including which episode he’ll first appear in, are under wraps. Temuera Morrison in Talks to Play AQUAMAN’s Father
We’re only a couple months away from the start of production for DC Films’ Aquaman, and recently, we’ve been getting plenty of casting news. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in talks to play the villainous Black Manta, while Nicole Kidman is in early negotiations to play Aquaman’s Atlantean mother, Atlanna. Last year, it was announced that Greg Berlanti is tackling another DC television show: Black Lightning. Berlanti is godfathering the project, which is developed by Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. Fox previously picked up a pilot order, but it looks like the potential series is about to move to a new home. Supergirl recently resumed its second season on The CW, following its winter hiatus. So far, the season has set up Cadmus as the season’s main antagonists. Chris Terrio Rewrote THE BATMAN Script; More Directors Rumored to Be in Contention
This week, it was confirmed that Ben Affleck is no longer directing The Batman for Warner Bros. and DC Films. Affleck is still on board to star in and produce the film, which he co-wrote with Geoff Johns.
