Two Composers Hired to Score NEW MUTANTS
We’re only a few months away from the release of New Mutants, the latest spinoff film in the X-Men franchise. We got a teaser trailer a couple months ago, teasing the movie’s horror tone and more. Now, we know who is composing the score for the film. According to Film Music Reporter, composing duo Nate Walcott and Mike Mogis will score New Mutants, re-teaming with director Josh Boone. They have previously scored Boone’s two other movies, Stuck in Love and The Fault in Our Stars. They are also members of the indie rock band Bright Eyes. Does JUSTICE LEAGUE Really Need an Extended Cut?
Ever since the debut of DC Films’ Justice League, fans almost immediately began talking about its home video release. Many hope to see director Zack Snyder’s original cut, while others want to at least see an extended version of what we got in theaters. VENOM Producer Talks Tom Hardy's Performance and Eddie Brock's Characterization
Production is underway on Sony’s Venom movie, starring Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock. Plot details are under wraps, save for the fact that the film is inspired by the Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes comics. New Line’s Shazam has been building out its cast, which so far predominately consists of child actors. The DC movie stars Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Jovan Armand as Pedro Peña, Grace Fulton as Mary, and Cooper Andrews as the group home’s father. ARROW: Marc Guggenheim Talks DC’s Plans for Deathstroke and The Question
After a key role in the show’s first two seasons, Slade Wilson/Deathstroke was taken off the table for Arrow. DC had “other plans” for the character – aka Joe Manganiello’s portrayal in the movies. Deathstroke appeared in the Justice League post-credits scene, and Manganiello is attached to star in his own film and maybe The Batman. SHAZAM Casts THE WALKING DEAD Alum Cooper Andrews
Another day, another bit of casting news for DC and New Line’s Shazam. According to Deadline, The Walking Dead actor Cooper Andrews has joined the highly anticipated superhero tentpole. He will play the foster parent at Billy Batson’s group home. This news comes after two of Billy’s group home friends, Eugene and Pedro, had been cast. Andrews also joins Zachary Levi as Shazam, Asher Angel as Billy Batson, Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, and Grace Fulton as Mary. Shazam will begin shooting in February under the direction of David F. Sandberg. The film is set to hit theaters in April 2019.
