We are a couple months away from the premiere of CBS’ new DC Comics adaptation, Supergirl. This week, the network released an official plot description for the show’s very first episode, appropriately titled “Pilot.” Following it is a more detailed description of the whole series. We’re just a few short weeks away from the highly anticipated premiere of The Flash‘s second season. Today, The CW has released a new promotional poster for the series, featuring the Scarlet Speedster running as usual. It also gives us a good look at the tweaked suit, with the new white emblem. After bringing in Jay Garrick and Wally West, The Flash is bringing in yet another Speedster to its second season. It has been announced that Violett Beane has been cast as Jesse Quick. Beane will appear in multiple episodes this season and is described as a “brilliant, quirky, college student who gets caught up in Barry Allen’s battle with Season two’s big bad,  Zoom.” With Zoom, Jay Garrick, (possibly) Kid-Flash and a possible return of The Reverse-Flash, Violett Beane will join a long list of Speedsters in The Flash’s second season. Season two of The Flash will premiere, Tuesday, October 6th 2015 8/7c on The CW.

With new seasons of Gotham, Arrow and The Flash premiering in just under 2 months, Warner Bros. One of the things that became apparent during the first season of Flash was the link between Barry Allen’s origin and the origin of another DC Hero, Firestorm.  At times it even seemed much of the first season was built more around the origin of Firestorm than the titular hero.  Season two of the Flash seems set on continuing that good relationship as Demore Barnes joins the cast as one of the Flamebrain’s top villains, Tokamak. In a couple of different interviews (via Batman-News), Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill talked about the DC Extended Universe. We know his Superman will return in the two-part Justice League, as well as a standalone sequel to Man of Steel. But what about other DC films on the current slate? Nathan Fillion has been a fan-favorite amongst geeks for many years. The Firefly star has voiced Hal Jordan/Green Lantern in several animated movies from DC, leading to fans wanting Fillion to play the role in live action. While he probably never will, he did make a cameo as an inmate in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Now, Fillion has named another comic book role he wants to take on. As we draw closer to the start of the 2015-2016 television season, new promos have been released for DC Entertainment shows Gotham and The Flash, both of which will begin their second seasons this fall. The Flash promo is another ten second advertisement, featuring brief glimpses of the Scarlet Speedster in action. We also see Heat Wave and Captain Cold, as well as a shot of Flash’s updated suit. Meanwhile, this promo for Gotham again focuses on “Villains Rising,” particularly The Joker Jerome. Another solo film for Superman was confirmed last year, when Warner Bros. announced its DC Extended Universe lineup. While Man of Steel 2 does not have an official release date yet, it is expected to come sometime by 2020 and after Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the two-part Justice League. Today, a rumor has resurfaced regarding who would direct the Man of Steel sequel, and it is definitely a name that would excite fans.
