DC LEGO Bits: First Look At New Duplo Sets, Martian Manhunter Minifigure Coming In March
We have a couple of news tidbits regarding LEGO’s DC Superheroes line. First up, a Martian Manhunter minifigure will be made available exclusively on the LEGO online store in March. It will be free with a purchase of $75 or more. J’onn J’onzz is the seventh Justice League member to become a LEGO figure, completing the original members set. Minifigures for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman have all been released at this point. First-Look Featurette For SON OF BATMAN Now Online
Set to be included on the Justice League: War Blu-Ray and DVD releases this Tuesday, a first-look featurette for DC’s next animated movie has found its way online. Son of Batman adapts Grant Morrison’s “Batman and Son” story arc, which brought Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, into the DC Universe. In addition to showcasing new footage from the movie, the featurette also goes behind-the-scenes. Details on the casting and characters are featured here, as well as storyboards. In 2006, Warner Bros. made an unsuccessful attempt to revive the Superman franchise with Superman Returns. Bryan Singer, who directed the well-received X-Men and X2: X-Men United, helmed the Man of Steel’s latest big screen outing. However, Returns was met with a mixed reception from fans and audiences, grossing a mere $390M worldwide on a $200M budget. John CONSTANTINE Will Indeed Be British In NBC Pilot
More details on NBC’s Constantine pilot have found their way online, and fans of the DC/Vertigo character will be pleased with the latest news. According to Bleeding Cool, John Constantine will hail from London, and will have a British accent. Keanu Reeves’ take on the character in 2005’s Constantine film wasn’t British, much to the frustration of fans. Also, the NBC version is expected to be blonde. Warner Bros. has finally announced who is playing Lex Luthor in 2016’s Batman vs. Superman, and it’s not who you would expect. Video Games: BATMAN: ARKHAM ORIGINS Story DLC Canceled For Wii U
A new story DLC for Batman: Arkham Origins was confirmed earlier this month. Other than a 2014 release date, no other details are given. However, it is expected to focus on Mr. Freeze. Now, we have an update on the DLC, and it’s not one that would please Wii U players. Warner Bros. has confirmed to IGN that the Arkham Origins DLC will no longer be coming to Wii U, due to a lack of demand. “Based on demand for DLC content on the system, Warner Bros. Neil Marshall Hired To Direct NBC’s CONSTANTINE Pilot
We officially have a director for NBC’s planned Constantine pilot, which marks the small screen debut of DC’s John Constantine. According to Deadline, Doomsday and The Descent director Neil Marshall is set to helm the pilot, which was written by Daniel Cerone from a story by him and David S. Goyer. The potential series’ incarnation of Constantine is described as, “an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.” Casting is underway for Constantine and three other characters, with plans for the pilot to appear on NBC’s 2014-2015 schedule.

Warner Bros. Pushing New Batman And DC Products At This Year’s Toy Fair
Warner Bros. will be pushing products for Godzilla and The Hobbit at the 2014 Toy Fair, but also set to be present are new DC Entertainment products. Via Variety, products for Batman, Superman, and other Justice League characters will be promoted at the event. Mattel will release new Batman toys such as the Lights and Sounds 10-inch Core Figures, Hot Wheels Batmobile Assortment, Batman basic figures, and others. Fisher-Price will also be expanding its DC Super Friends toyline for pre-schoolers. THE LEGO MOVIE Parodies MAN OF STEEL In New Trailer; Two New TV Spots Featuring Superman And Green Lantern
We’re getting closer and closer to the theatrical debut of The LEGO Movie, so we have even more new footage from the anticipated animated movie. The third and (presumably) final trailer has been released, and it parodies the theatrical trailer for Man of Steel, incorporating Hans Zimmer’s magnificent score. We also have a couple of new TV spots, both of which have new footage featuring Superman (Channing Tatum) and Green Lantern (Jonah Hill). Matthew Goode Met For Unspecified BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN Role; More Details On Ben Affleck’s Batsuits
We have a couple of key news pieces for Batman vs. Superman today. First off, Comic Book Movie has learned that Matthew Goode – who previously worked with director Zack Snyder on Watchmen – met with Warner Bros. executives for an unspecified role in the Man of Steel sequel. Unsurprisingly, speculation regarding his potential character is ranging from Lex Luthor and Barry Allen to Metallo and Hal Jordan. We’ll just have to wait and see how this one pans out.
