Marvel’s BLACK WIDOW Director Search Continues
After the success of Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel is planning for the future. They are moving ahead with a Black Widow solo film, starring Scarlett Johansson of course. Deadline is reporting that Cate Shortland (Berlin Syndrome) is the frontrunner to direct. We know that the film will likely be a prequel, set before the events of Iron Man 2. Deadline is also reporting that Marvel head Kevin Feige and Johansson met with Amma Asante (Belle) and Maggie Betts (Novitiate) for the directing gig. Paramount Puts New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLE Movie in Development
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been adapted multiple times on the big screen. Most recently, Paramount rebooted the franchise with two films. The 2014 movie was a box office hit, while 2016’s Out of the Shadows was a bomb, leaving the franchise’s future unclear. But now, the heroes in a half shell are staging a comeback. According to The Hollywood Reporter, screenwriter Andrew Dodge (Bad Words) is scripting a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller are returning as producers. No director is attached yet. UPDATE: ABC has reached out to Lucasfilm, who has dismissed this report as “inaccurate.” The studio says there are still “multiple” Star Wars movies that are in development, but haven’t been announced yet. The original story follows. A big part of Disney’s plan when acquiring Lucasfilm, in addition to the main Skywalker saga, was to develop standalone Star Wars stories for the big screen. The CW Announces Fall 2018 Premiere Dates
The CW has unveiled its complete fall schedule, revealing when your favorite comic book shows will return to the small screen. The Flash and Black Lightning will premiere their new seasons on Tuesday, October 9th at 8 PM and 9 PM EST, respectively. Riverdale will be back on Wednesday, October 10th at 8 PM EST. Supergirl will return on Sunday, October 14th at 8 PM EST, kicking off the network’s Sunday programming. We’re a month away from this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. This week, we have confirmation of three shows making their presence known at the convention. According to Deadline, Marvel and Netflix are bringing Iron Fist to SDCC.
