In recent years, Marvel’s television division has seriously beefed up its lineup. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which debuted in 2013, served as the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first entry onto the small screen. Wonder Woman has proven to be an indisputable win for the DC Extended Universe. The film grossed $103 million in its opening weekend, the biggest opening ever for a female-led superhero movie and for a female-directed movie. Mattel is creating action figures based on DC Films’ Justice League, as part of its DC Multiverse line. Courtesy of the “Join the League” website, we now have a first look at these figures. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 came out this summer, and it has been yet another winner for the studio. Marvel Studios will begin production on its latest sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, later this summer. Director Peyton Reed returns for the follow-up, along with stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, and Michael Peña. Rudd co-wrote the script with Gabriel Ferrari. Now, casting has begun on the sequel’s new characters. According to Variety, Black Mirror actress Hannah John-Kamen has joined the cast of Ant-Man and the Wasp. All four of The CW’s current DC shows – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – have been renewed for new seasons next fall. Anticipation is high for the next wave of DC TV, especially since all four seasons ended on exciting cliffhangers.
