5 More Marvel Legacy Characters We Want to See in the MCU
[Warning: The Following Contains Spoilers From WandaVision, As Well As Rumors Regarding the Third Spider-Man Movie’s Plot.] Before and during the early days of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, other studios created their own films based on Marvel characters. Retroactively referred to as “Marvel Legacy” movies, they range from the wildly successful Spider-Man and X-Men franchises to standalone movies starring the likes of Daredevil, Hulk and the Fantastic Four. They all exist in their own continuity, which is almost unheard of in the modern age of superhero films. But now, with the MCU getting ready to explore the Multiverse, these worlds are starting to blur. Following J.K. Simmons’ reprisal of J.…

THE FANBOY: “Cavill’s Superman in SHAZAM! 2? Of Course The Snyder Cut is Rated R! DC Films Are Filmmaker-Driven At Last, THOR, GUARDIANS, More!”
This week’s show, as always, covers a smattering of geeky film topics. Host Mario-Francisco Robles starts things off by poking fun at an absurd rumor about DC’s BLACK ADAM, before diving into That Hashtag Show’s scoop that Henry Cavill’s Superman is set for SHAZAM! Fury of The Gods. Steven Spielberg is featured next, for his comments about audiences returning to movie theater, and how they mirror MFR’s feelings on the matter. Up next, The Fanboy host delves into how to split up DC’s multiverse across several mediums. From there, there’s chatter about The Suicide Squad (NEW SYNOPSIS!), Thor: Love and Thunder (STARTED FILMING), and Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3…

Hops and Box Office Flops: STUART SAVES HIS FAMILY – In Need of an Intervention
Stuart Saves His Family is a textbook example of how not all sketches are meant to be made into films. If it’s not the worst Saturday Night Live adaptation, it’s certainly close. Based on Daily Affirmation with Stuart Smalley, as well as an in-character novel by Al Franken (the movie’s star), the film never seems to understand what made Smalley work in the first place. Worse, it’s not at all funny. It wraps him in a realistic world, full of realistic and often depressing family problems. Couple that with a plot that meanders between his home life and his struggling work life and none of it equates to comedy gold. So, though Stuart Smalley may…

OFFICIAL: Changing of the Guard and New Horizons in 2021
This website’s been on one heck of a journey. What started in 2013 as a little blog called Watchtower of Babel has grown far more than I could have ever imagined. To date we’ve published nearly 4,000 articles, graduated college, started careers, gotten married, survived a shutdown, weathered a global pandemic, and somehow this little site has kept on going. I joined the old Watchtower crew in 2017, and people I’ve met here have become lifelong friends. The site we now know as WOBAM Entertainment draws its greatest strength from being a beacon where fans can express themselves with likeminded people. We shun toxic fandom and embrace being a platform…

SPOILER REVIEW: Limetown (TV series)
When it first hit the scene in 2015, Limetown was the podcast everyone was talking about. It was hip, it was mysterious, it was exciting; part of the first wave of true crime podcasts. What made Limetown unique was that it was fictional, yet oh so close to reality; many listeners were shocked to find out it wasn’t real at all. I reviewed the first season back then and gave it a solid 5/5 stars. Fast forward to 2019, and the series was adapted for television by Facebook Watch and the team at Iron Ocean Productions. While I missed the show during its original run, it recently made its way…

THE MANDALORIAN SPOILER Review: Episodes 2×03 and 2×04- “The Heiress/The Siege”
The Mandalorian (2×03 and 2×04)- “The Heiress/The Siege” Written by: Jon Favreau Directed by: Bryce Dallas Howard (2×03) Carl Weathers (2×04) Episodes three and four, here’s hoping more happens than the last episode. The Heiress The episode opens with the Razor Crest limping to Trask. Mando basically has to drop out of orbit like a rock and then hope his braking thrusters work and it almost works. They land on the pad and then gracefully fall into the ocean. That’s probably going to drive up repair costs. But it’s okay since the Frog woman is happily reunited with her mate. Well that’s good, now maybe Mando can get some answers. …

THE MANDALORIAN SPOILER Review: Episodes 2×01 and 2×02- “The Marshal/The Passenger”
The Mandalorian (2×01 and 2×02)- “The Marshal/The Passenger” Written by: Jon Favreau Directed by: Jon Favreau (2×01) Peyton Reed (2×02) Oh man! Season Two of the Mandalorian, so much time has passed how will I ever remember everything that happened? Woe is me! The Marshal Season two opens on Mando out of the shadows in a city on the backstreets. He and The Child have come to meet with a being Gor Koresh at an underground fight club (but I can’t talk about that) to get a lead on the whereabouts of other mandalorians. Koresh wants to bet for Mando’s armor, which should be taken as a bad sign and…

THE MANDALORIAN SPOILER Review: Episodes 1×07 and 1×08- “The Reckoning/Redemption”
The Mandalorian (1×07 and 1×08)- “The Reckoning/Redemption” Written by: Jon Favreau Directed by: Deborah Chow (1×07) Taika Waititi (1×08) Time to wrap up Season One… That was fast. The Reckoning Mando’s on the way somewhere when he receives a message from Greef asking for help… Instead of deleting the message like I might (I don’t make the best decisions when I’m angry… or when I’m not angry, spending years Star Trek Voyager alone proves that.) he listens. It seems The Client has brought an Imperial garrison to Nevarro and the crackdown has not only hurt the city but the guild as well. If Mando agrees to come help them break…

WW84: Jenkins discusses what she wanted to tackle and accomplish with the Wonder Woman sequel Superman & Lois is looking great, and why He wraps things…

THE MANDALORIAN SPOILER Review: Episodes 1×05 and 1×06- “The Gunslinger/The Prisoner”
The Mandalorian (1×05 and 1×06)- “The Gunslinger/The Prisoner” Written by: Dave Filoni (1×05) Christopher L Yost and Rick Famuyiwa (1×06) Directed by: Dave Filoni (1×05) Rick Famuyiwa (1×06) The Gunslinger It had to happen sooner or later, so best to just rip off the band-aid now… After nearly getting blown out of the stars by another bounty hunter and taking heavy damage, Mando takes The Child to Tatooine. But not just any part of Tatooine! He’s going to Mos Eisley! If it was just Tatooine I probably wouldn’t have cared, if it was just Most Eisley I would have let it slide but as soon as the Razor Crest touches…
