Sony’s Venom set a new record for October opening weekends, grossing over $80 million in its debut. However, many have wondered if that record would be broken by this week’s new release, Halloween. Marvel Studios Drops Untitled Movie from 2020 Schedule
Marvel Studios previously dated a bunch of untitled movies for the next few years, including three for 2020. However, it looks like one movie won’t be arriving that year, based on Disney’s latest schedule change. The untitled Marvel movie set for July 31st, 2020 has been removed from the schedule, and it is currently “undated.” As a result, Disney has moved Dwayne Johnson’s Jungle Cruise movie to July 24th, 2020. Despite negative reviews from critics, Sony’s Venom has proven to be a box office force to be reckoned with. It earned the biggest October opening in history, and it has held up in the days since. Now, its second weekend estimates are in. Venom grossed an estimated $35.7 million this weekend, retaining the top spot.
