VENOM Sets Record-Breaking Opening in China, Nears $700 Million Worldwide
Venom is still going strong, and this weekend, it finally opened in China, where it has had a record-breaking opening weekend. The Sony Marvel movie is opening with an estimated $111 million, which is one of the biggest movie debuts in China’s history. It is the second biggest superhero opening, behind Avengers: Infinity War‘s $191 million, while it is Sony’s largest debut in the country. Sony Sets IMAX Releases for SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME and MEN IN BLACK Spinoff
Following the box office success of Venom, Sony is strengthening its relationship with IMAX. The two companies have signed their first long-term collaboration, which will see the release of multiple Sony movies in IMAX theaters worldwide.
