Epic First Trailer for DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Released
Following its panel at Upfronts today, The CW has officially released the first trailer for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the latest installment in the universe created by Arrow and The Flash. In this series, a group of heroes and villains from both shows unite to take down a powerful threat and become legends. The trailer focuses on Oliver Queen, Barry Allen and time traveler Rip Hunter bringing together a new team that would take on Vandal Savage, a seemingly immortal adversary. The CW Unveils 2015-2016 Schedule; LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Confirmed for Midseason Premiere
With The CW holding its Upfronts presentation today, the network has officially released its schedule for the 2015-2016 season. And it is not that different from the previous schedule. The Flash will stick to its 8 PM on Tuesdays slot, while iZombie immediately follows it at 9 PM. Meanwhile, Arrow will stay in the 8 PM on Wednesdays slot. And as previously expected, The CW’s latest comic book series, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, is being kept for the midseason lineup. The CW’s Upfronts panel is today, and with it, we have our first official look at its latest DC Comics adaptation, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. The network has released a new promotional image featuring the main cast, which consists of various supporting heroes and villains from both Arrow and The Flash. It also gives us our first looks at new characters Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl and Rip Hunter. Perhaps most significantly, however, the image finally reveals who exactly Caity Lotz is playing in the spin-off series. First Trailer for CBS’ SUPERGIRL Now Online
After screening it at Upfronts today, CBS has officially released the first footage from Supergirl. In the lengthy trailer – six and a half minutes in length – we get a better sense of the pilot’s story, as well as plenty of action-packed footage. It also offers a look at the evolution of Kara’s costume and discovering her superpowers and backstory. Additionally, the trailer features plenty of references to Kara’s cousin, Superman. TNT President Offers Update on TITANS; Pilot to be “Very True” to Source Material
It was announced last fall that TNT was developing a television pilot called Titans, which is based on DC Comics’ Teen Titans. The potential series would star Dick Grayson as he evolves into the role of Nightwing. Other characters include Barbara Gordon, Raven, Starfire, Hawk and Dove. Since then, we’ve heard little on the project, with various casting and production rumors being unsubstantiated. But now, we have an official update, and it sounds promising. SUPERGIRL Set to Premiere in November; First Stills and Lengthy Plot Logline Released
CBS unveiled its 2015-2016 schedule at Upfronts today, and with it, we have plenty of goodies for Supergirl. In addition to the above promo image, it has been confirmed that the series will premiere in November on the network. It will air on Mondays at 8 PM EST, the same slot where Fox shows Gotham. GOTHAM Upgrades Morena Baccarin’s Leslie Thompkins to Series Regular for Season Two
Dr. Leslie Thompkins, played by fan-favorite actress Morena Baccarin, was introduced as a recurring character in the first season of Fox’s Gotham. Baccarin, who is currently filming Deadpool for 20th Century Fox, had an option to become a series regular for the show’s second season, and it looks like that option is being used. TV Line has confirmed that Leslie Thompkins has been promoted to series regular status for season two of Gotham. In the Batman prequel series, the doctor is a love interest for Detective Jim Gordon, played by Ben McKenzie. It will be interesting to see where Thompkins’ story goes this season. Fox Unveils its 2015-2016 Schedule; GOTHAM Retains Monday Slot as LUCIFER Moves to Midseason
With Upfronts scheduled for this week, television networks are now unveiling their finalized schedules for the 2015-2016 season. This morning, Fox has revealed its lineup. Unsurprisingly, Gotham will remain in its Monday at 8 PM EST slot when its second season premieres this fall. The Batman prequel series will be paired with The Minority Report, a television adaptation of the 2002 film starring Tom Cruise. An exact premiere date for Gotham season two is unknown, but don’t be surprised if it debuts in September like the first season did. Any DC Television Series Can Crossover, Says ARROW Star Stephen Amell
Despite DC Entertainment having several television shows on the air and in development, most of them are on different networks. Arrow, The Flash and the upcoming DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are at The CW, while Fox has Gotham and next fall’s Lucifer. Meanwhile, CBS has Supergirl, TNT is developing Titans, and NBC recently cancelled Constantine. Given the different networks, many assumed that these shows would exist in their own separate world, other than The CW’s. However, it looks like crossovers within the DC Television Universe are not off the table.
