Breaking: Director Michelle MacLaren Exits WONDER WOMAN Movie Due to “Creative Differences”
Some unexpected news has been announced for Warner Bros.’ Wonder Woman movie. Director Michelle MacLaren, who was set to make her feature film debut here, has dropped out of the DC Comics adaptation, via The Hollywood Reporter. The studio sent out a statement regarding MacLaren’s departure, citing “creative differences” (a phrase frequently used when a director exits a movie). The statement reads, “Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together.” In addition to directing, MacLaren was set to work on the story for Wonder Woman alongside the film’s screenwriters. Awesome “Superhero Fight Club” Promo Unites Characters From ARROW and THE FLASH
With new episodes for The Flash and Arrow returning this week – marking the final break of the season for the two shows – The CW has released a unique new promo teasing these final episodes. The promo is a parody of the cult classic film Fight Club and sees Oliver Queen introducing Barry Allen to “Superhero Fight Club.” There, heroes and villains from Flash and Arrow come to blows. James Wan Frontrunner to Direct AQUAMAN for Warner Bros.
A few months ago, it was reported that Warner Bros. was looking to hire James Wan to direct a DC Comics movie. Many assumed that the movie in question was Shazam; Wan has connections to New Line Cinema, and he recently worked with Dwayne Johnson on the box office smash Furious 7. However, it turns out that Wan is being considered for another DC adaptation: Aquaman. Following the success of Arrow and The Flash, The CW is developing a spin-off series that will team up several supporting characters from both shows. This sizzle reel teases the rest of the season, and it looks to be a thrilling ride. After taking a break for a few years, DC animation mastermind Bruce Timm is back with a new feature film, Justice League: Gods and Monsters.
