The CW’s Flash pilot has found its female lead. According to Deadline, Candice Patton – known for her roles in television shows The Game and Sorority Forever – had landed the role of Iris West in the planned Arrow spin-off. Iris is described as “[Barry] Allen’s fast-talking, quick-witted best friend who is also the daughter of Detective West, who serves as a surrogate father to Barry.” Grant Gustin is reprising his role as Allen, while Jesse L. Tomorrow night’s episode of Arrow will see the debut of Nyssa al Ghul, played by Katrina Law. The daughter of Ra’s al Ghul will be coming to Starling City in an attempt to bring Sara Lance back to the League of Assassins. In stores tomorrow, Justice League: War marks the dawn of a new era for DC’s animated projects. The New 52 adaptation kicked off a new continuity that will be shared by future titles. We heard from Bryan Singer earlier today about what he would have done differently with Superman Returns, and what was planned for the scrapped sequel. We have a couple of news tidbits regarding LEGO’s DC Superheroes line. First up, a Martian Manhunter minifigure will be made available exclusively on the LEGO online store in March. It will be free with a purchase of $75 or more. J’onn J’onzz is the seventh Justice League member to become a LEGO figure, completing the original members set. Minifigures for Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Aquaman have all been released at this point. Set to be included on the Justice League: War Blu-Ray and DVD releases this Tuesday, a first-look featurette for DC’s next animated movie has found its way online. Son of Batman adapts Grant Morrison’s “Batman and Son” story arc, which brought Damian Wayne, the son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, into the DC Universe. In addition to showcasing new footage from the movie, the featurette also goes behind-the-scenes. Details on the casting and characters are featured here, as well as storyboards. In 2006, Warner Bros. made an unsuccessful attempt to revive the Superman franchise with Superman Returns. More details on NBC’s Constantine pilot have found their way online, and fans of the DC/Vertigo character will be pleased with the latest news. According to Bleeding Cool, John Constantine will hail from London, and will have a British accent. Keanu Reeves’ take on the character in 2005’s Constantine film wasn’t British, much to the frustration of fans. Also, the NBC version is expected to be blonde. Warner Bros. has finally announced who is playing Lex Luthor in 2016’s Batman vs. Superman, and it’s not who you would expect. Jesse Eisenberg, who was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in The Social Network, is set to play Superman’s arch nemesis in the Man of Steel sequel.
