Marvel Studios Has Plans for Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel
Marvel Studios is planning many films starring new characters after 2019’s Avengers 4. Currently, the studio has plans for the Eternals, Moon Knight and Nova, while a Black Widow movie is finally moving forward. Now, another character has been confirmed to join the MCU…eventually. ABC Finally Cancels INHUMANS After One Season
Back in September, ABC premiered its latest Marvel show, Inhumans, which was made in collaboration with IMAX. The eight-episode series was trashed by fans and critics, while ratings were mediocre. So, this news shouldn’t be surprising….except for how long it took to announce it. ABC has confirmed (via TV Line) that Inhumans has been cancelled after just one season. The CW Renews iZOMBIE for Season 5
Last month, The CW gave early renewals to the bulk of its programming slate, including the DC television shows and Riverdale. However, there were a few shows that haven’t been decided on until recently, and the network is renewing or cancelling them. Fortunately, one fan-favorite show made the cut. The CW has confirmed (via TV Line) that iZombie has been renewed for a fifth season. The midseason show, based on the Vertigo comic book, didn’t return until late February this year, and fans have speculated if it was going to get renewed again. SHAZAM! Officially Wraps Production
After many years of development, New Line Cinema’s Shazam! finally began production earlier this year. And now, the next installment of DC Films’ universe is officially in the can. Director David F. Fox Cancels LUCIFER After Three Seasons
Television networks are currently announcing renewals or cancellations for their shows, as the 2018-2019 schedules come together. One network is Fox, which has already cancelled several shows, including Brooklyn-Nine-Nine. The latest decision marks the end of fan-favorite Vertigo adaptation Lucifer. IGN has premiered the trailer for the next animated DC movie, The Death of Superman. The latest version of the iconic storyline takes place in the DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU), and it is the first of a two-part adaptation. AMC’s The Walking Dead is heading into its ninth season this fall, and the show is adding two new regulars to the cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Avi Nash and Callan McAuliffe have been upgraded to series regulars. The two joined the show as Siddiq and Alden, respectively, during season eight. The Walking Dead returns in October with new showrunner Angela Kang. HBO is bringing Watchmen back to life, and this news suggests it’ll happen sooner than later. According to Production Weekly (via ComicBook), the show’s working title is “Brooklyn.” This suggests that the show will be beginning production soon.
