Fox’s GOTHAM Adds STRAW DOGS Actor Drew Powell In Villainous Recurring Role
We have some more casting news for Fox’s Gotham. According to Deadline, Straw Dogs actor Drew Powell – who previously guest starred on True Blood, Bones, and NCIS – has landed a recurring role in the planned Batman prequel series. He will play a character named Butch Gilzean, who is described as “the deceptively clever and ambitious second-in-command to sadistic gangster boss Fish Mooney.” This is apparently a character created specifically for the series (like Mooney), and does not come from the comics. Video Games: DC To Announce Next BATMAN: ARKHAM Title Tomorrow?
The past few days have seen a number of different rumors surrounding the next Batman video game. Well, it looks like we’ll finally get an answer tomorrow. The latest DC All-Access, which hits tomorrow, promises a video game-centric episode with a special announcement. Bleeding Cool says that it is indeed for the next Arkham title. Substantiating a rumor that hit late last year, the site reveals that the game will be titled Batman: Arkham Knight. The title was one of the domains registered by Warner Bros. last year. Speaking with The Huffington Post while promoting 300: Rise of an Empire, Zack Snyder talks a bit about his upcoming Man of Steel sequel, aka Batman vs. Superman. As he only produced the 300 sequel, Snyder was asked if he could have directed it thanks to Batman vs. Superman‘s release date delay. “No, no. That’s why I couldn’t do it. We got our first look at Grant Gustin as The Flash the other day, confirming that filming for The CW’s Arrow spin-off pilot was set to start very soon. Yesterday, co-writer Geoff Johns tweeted the following image, showcasing a Central City Police Department portfolio along with the tagline “It begins…” And today, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shared an image of the Flash clapperboard, while Iris West actress Candice Patton confirmed that today is the first day of production in Vancouver. First Look At Grant Gustin As THE FLASH In The CW’s Upcoming Pilot
After much anticipation, we finally have an official glimpse of Grant Gustin suited up as The Flash in The CW’s Arrow spin-off. While it isn’t a full bodyshot, the following first-look image offers a good shot of Barry Allen’s headgear as the Scarlet Speedster. As expected, it’s a great modern reinvention of the mask donned by The Flash in the comics, and it increases anticipation for a shot of the suit in its entirety. The Flash costume was designed by Academy Award winner Colleen Atwood, who previously worked on Alice in Wonderland and Snow White & The Huntsman. The guys at How It Should Have Ended are back, and after creating parody videos for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, they finish the trilogy with Batman Begins. Their latest video offers a much simpler resolution to Batman defeating Ra’s al Ghul, and continues to showcase the Dark Knight’s massive ego. Last night’s episode of Arrow ended on a pulse-pounding note, as (SPOILERS, obviously) Oliver Queen finally discovered that Slade Wilson is alive – and in Starling City. Next week’s episode, “The Promise”, will explore this shock to Oliver in more detail. However, the majority of the episode will be island flashbacks. Star Stephen Amell has called this episode the best of the series, and judging from the extended promo below, it’s easy to see why.
