BLACK PANTHER THE ALBUM Details Announced
A few weeks ago, it was announced that Kendrick Lamar is producing the soundtrack for Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. The soundtrack will consist of original songs from and inspired by the movie. Now, the track list has been confirmed. Kendrick Lamar has shared the track list for Black Panther The Album on Twitter. The soundtrack consists of 14 songs, several of which feature Lamar. Kevin Feige Isn't Thinking About Adding X-Men and Fantastic Four to the Marvel Cinematic Universe…Yet
Last month, Disney confirmed that the company was in the process of acquiring 21st Century Fox, including its film studio. This would bring the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Deadpool franchises under the Marvel Studios umbrella. However, the merger is at least a year away from happening, as the deal needs to receive congressional approval before being finalized. Director Nicole Kassell Tapped for WATCHMEN Pilot
While news for Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen series has been few and far between, more is beginning to drip as the show speeds into production. Deadline reports that director Nicole Kassell has been tapped to helm the Pilot episode. Kassell has an impressive resume, having directed episodes of Lindelof’s The Leftovers, along with episodes of Better Call Saul, The Americans, and the upcoming Castle Rock series at Hulu. All of these shows are shot in a raw and dramatic way, so we can expect Watchmen to have a similar tone. Watchmen is produced by Lindelof’s White Rabbit in association with Warner Bros. Television. BLACK PANTHER Outpacing All Other Superhero Movies on Fandango
Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is finally hitting theaters in a couple weeks, and it is on track to be another mega-hit for the company. Early reactions say that it’s incredible, while early box office tracking suggests an opening well over $100 million. Now, the film has broken a pretty big record. Fandango has announced that Black Panther is outpacing every other superhero film in advance ticket sales, making it the genre’s biggest seller on the platform. Who is Dove Cameron Playing on AGENTS OF SHIELD?
The casting keeps comin’ and they don’t stop comin’! Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on a new character coming to Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Actress Dove Cameron, star of Disney’s Descendants and the voice of Spider-Gwen in Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, has been cast in the role of Ruby, described as “a young woman of cunning intelligence who has a mysterious obsession with Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet).” Cameron’s character is also the daughter of General Hale, played by Catherine Dent. DC Adds Superman Prequel Series METROPOLIS to Streaming Service
DC Entertainment is prepping to launch its own streaming service, which will include original content. Titans and Young Justice: Outsiders are premiering sometime this year, while an animated Harley Quinn series is also in the works. Now, a fourth show has entered development. Warner Bros. has announced that a new 13-episode series titled Metropolis is coming to DC’s streaming service. The show, which takes place before Superman’s arrival, focuses on Lois Lane and Lex Luthor in a fringe science investigation-type story. SHAZAM! Movie Officially Begins Production
After many years in various stages of development, New Line Cinema’s Shazam! movie is finally shooting. Director David F. Sandberg confirmed on Instagram that production is underway for the next DC film. The superhero story stars Asher Angel, Zachary Levi, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Jack Dylan Grazer, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Cooper Andrews, Marta Milans, and Faithe Herman.
