Review: BLACK PANTHER THE SERIES
With Black Panther coming to theaters in just a matter of days, we thought now would be a good time to talk about his time on the small screen, with Black Panther the series. For those who don’t know, Black Panther had a short-lived animated series (six episodes) on BET in 2010. Is the series worth checking out or is it a complete waste of time? Well, let’s find out! The story is quite simple, T’Challa (Djimon Hounsou) has to take the throne after his father’s assassination. The royal court is jealous because they were leading Wakanda until T’Challa came of age. Meanwhile, Klaw (Stephen Stanton), the man who killed…

JUSTICE LEAGUE Deleted Scene Features Superman’s Black Suit
It’s no secret that Warner Bros. heavily edited Justice League, leading to many scenes ending up on the cutting room floor. Only about two minutes of deleted footage is actually making it onto the home video release, while there seem to be no plans to put out a (non-existent?) Zack Snyder cut. Today, a portion of the deleted scene was released online, and it features one thing fans wanted in the original cut. Entertainment Weekly has released the deleted scene, and it features Superman inside the Kryptonian ship to get his suit. In the background, we see Kal-El’s black suit, though he doesn’t actually put it on. This Easter egg…

Michael Bay Eyed to Direct LOBO Movie for Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. has been developing DC movie Lobo on-and-off for years. Most recently, Jason Fuchs (who worked on Wonder Woman) was hired to write a new script, but that was two years ago, and we hadn’t had any major updates since. Bay has met with the studio to share notes on the movie, which will then be incorporated into Fuchs’ rewrite. After the rewrite is finished, the studio hopes to strike a deal with Bay to make the movie.…

Joaquin Phoenix in Talks to Play The Joker in DC’s Origin Movie
In addition to DC Films’ shared universe, Warner Bros. is developing a slate of standalone movies that exist in their own continuity. (Think the Elseworld banner, but for the films.) First up is a movie chronicling Joker’s origin story, co-written and directed by Todd Phillips and possibly produced by Martin Scorsese. The film is set in 1980s Gotham City, and it is expected to look more like a gritty crime drama than a comic book movie. Now, the movie may have its Joker, and it’s a big one. According to Variety, Joaquin Phoenix has entered talks to star in the Joker film. While studio negotiations aren’t underway yet, Phoenix is…

Review: BATMAN FOREVER Soundtrack
Some record executive at Warner Bros. must have finished off the last of the cocaine from the eighties that was in the office while he was coming up with the concept for this album. The Batman Forever (1995) soundtrack is a unique time capsule into how corporate conglomerates used their film and music subsidiaries to promote each other during the nineties. This record should’ve been an absolute disaster, but by some miracle it doesn’t wind up being half bad. The soundtrack sold almost as many copies as Prince’s Batman (1989) soundtrack. That’s largely due to the fact the artists featured on this album were at the top of…
