After a lengthy search, Fox’s Gotham has finally found its future Batman. Actor David Mazouz (Touch) is set to filled the role of young Bruce Wayne in the prequel series. He was said to be an early favorite for the part. Deadline reveals that in Gotham, the preteen Wayne is “sentenced to a solitary life after the tragic murder of his wealthy parents and relies on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth and Jim Gordon.” The plan is for Mazouz to grow into the role as Wayne becomes Batman, which will happen by the end of the series. As reported yesterday, the game is titled Batman: Arkham Knight, and it will be released later this year. Fox’s GOTHAM Adds STRAW DOGS Actor Drew Powell In Villainous Recurring Role
We have some more casting news for Fox’s Gotham. According to Deadline, Straw Dogs actor Drew Powell – who previously guest starred on True Blood, Bones, and NCIS – has landed a recurring role in the planned Batman prequel series. He will play a character named Butch Gilzean, who is described as “the deceptively clever and ambitious second-in-command to sadistic gangster boss Fish Mooney.” This is apparently a character created specifically for the series (like Mooney), and does not come from the comics. After much anticipation, we finally have an official glimpse of Grant Gustin suited up as The Flash in The CW’s Arrow spin-off. While it isn’t a full bodyshot, the following first-look image offers a good shot of Barry Allen’s headgear as the Scarlet Speedster. As expected, it’s a great modern reinvention of the mask donned by The Flash in the comics, and it increases anticipation for a shot of the suit in its entirety. The guys at How It Should Have Ended are back, and after creating parody videos for The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, they finish the trilogy with Batman Begins.
