Jada Pinkett Smith Joins GOTHAM Series As Oswald Cobblepot’s Crime Boss ‘Fish Mooney’
We have another casting announcement for Fox’s Gotham, and this one is unexpected. The Batman prequel series has brought Jada Pinkett Smith (Madagascar, The Matrix sequels) on board as gangster boss Fish Mooney. The character is described as “a sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner. Wielding street smarts and the almost extra-sensory ability to read people, Fish is imposing and hotheaded — and not one to be crossed.” She is the employer of psychopath Oswald Cobblepot, who will be played Robin Lord Taylor. Mooney will be a series regular role, and one of the show’s big bads. Smith is certainly an impressive addition to the already highly anticipated series. Gotham also…

Now, speaking with The Nerd Repository, the Sons of Anarchy actor talks in detail about landing the role, the show’s setting and timeframe, and much more. Firstly, he discusses the rumor of his being offered the role of Jim Gordon – a role recently filled by Ben McKenzie – as well as being up for Bullock and the talks he had about the show. “It’s funny because I don’t know how that went down. The truth is that I…

BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: Gal Gadot Teases Results Of Her Training For Wonder Woman
When Gal Gadot was cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs. Superman a couple months ago, fans once again had complaints. Among the ludicrous complaints was the fact that the Fast & Furious 6 actress wasn’t physically suited for Diana of Themiscyra. Fortunately (and obviously), Gadot was immediately put into a rigorous training regime. Director Zack Snyder is known for getting his actors into excellent shape – see 300 and Man of Steel – and he’s doing the same thing with Batman vs. Superman. Now, Gadot has posted the following image on her Facebook page, flexing her muscles following a workout. She writes, “There’s nothing like a good workout in…

ARROW Officially Renewed For Season 3 By The CW
To the surprise of very few (if any), Arrow has officially been renewed for its third season. The CW has announced that the hit DC Comics series has been picked up early for its 2014-2015 schedule, alongside renewed shows such as Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, and Reign. Of course, the spin-off pilot The Flash is also expected to be ordered to series, and will likely air alongside Arrow starting this fall. Again, this news is far from unexpected, as Arrow has been a very successful take on the DC Universe. Star Stephen Amell recently confirmed that a five-season telling of flashbacks to Oliver Queen’s time on the island was planned,…

Clancy Brown is perhaps best known for voicing Lex Luthor in various DC projects. Former Flash Actor John Wesley Shipp Cast In The CW’s THE FLASH Pilot
John Wesley Shipp is best known for playing Barry Allen in the 1990s television series The Flash. He is by far the most recognizable live action incarnation of the Scarlet Speedster to date; so much so, many have speculated that he will have some sort of role in The CW’s planned Flash series. Now, that will indeed be the case. The network has confirmed that Shipp has been cast in a guest star role in the Arrow spin-off pilot, which stars Grant Gustin as Allen. His character is unknown, but it is expected to be a recurring role if the pilot is ordered to series. It is currently speculated that…

Gary Oldman Offers Advice To GOTHAM’s Ben McKenzie For Playing Jim Gordon
Gary Oldman’s take on Jim Gordon in The Dark Knight Trilogy is inarguably the best incarnation of the character to date. While it’s unknown who will fill the role in the DC Cinematic Universe, Ben McKenzie will play a younger version of the future police commissioner on Fox’s Gotham. Speaking with Access Hollywood, Oldman shares his thoughts on the casting choice. “I’m sure he’s going to be fabulous.” He then offers his advice to the Southland actor. “Go back to the comic books. That’s what I did. There’s great stuff about Gordon. He had a whole other life.” However, Oldman is uncertain about a Batman-themed television series that doesn’t, well,…
