Review: DEADPOOL 2
Foul-mouthed mutant mercenary Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool), brings together a team of fellow mutant rogues to protect a young boy of supernatural abilities from the brutal, time-traveling mutant, Cable. From the most interesting studio in the world, the one that killed Wolverine and is now property of Disney, comes Deadpool 2. The highly-anticipated sequel to 2016’s R-rated smash hit Deadpool has a new director in David Leitch (Atomic Blonde), a bigger budget to work with and a larger cast of characters, but is it able to hold a candle to its groundbreaking predecessor? Let’s find out. Sadly, I don’t think this sequel is as good as the first one. And yes, I’m aware that I gave the first a…

REVIEW: GREEN LANTERN (2011 aka The Bad One™)
Hey, WOBAMers. It’s your buddy Deadpool. What, you expected someone different? Like Pauly Boy? Michael Shrek? John Juan? Joke’s on you, nematodes. Isak was gonna write this one, but he had a prior engagement with my fists a Louisville Slugger, so I’m filling in on this one. Got it? Let’s go… Before I was this gorgeous red leatherman, I was lean and green. My name was Hal Jordan (God I love that name, it makes me sound so arrogant and full of myself). I was the best pilot out there. But before you could hear the microwave signal that the chimichanga’s ready, a purple alien (are we sure this takes place…

FEATURE: The Case for a PG-13 Deadpool
The Deadpool franchise has been a considerable success for 20th Century Fox, succeeding as an R rated franchise where many comic book projects failed. This is largely in part to Tim Miller and Ryan Reynolds’ vision for the character, lifting the lovable Merc with a Mouth from Rob Liefeld’s pages and letting him run free in a Fourth Wall-shattering silver screen sandbox. The first film’s $783 million worldwide gross is nothing to turn your nose at: this character connected with a LOT of people. BUT. But. Hear me out, friends: what if Deadpool was a PG-13 franchise? Would that be so bad? Would it hamper the filmmakers’ ability to tell…

FEATURE: Five Storylines to Consider for DEADPOOL 3
Deadpool is already one of the biggest superhero franchises in recent memory, with the 2016 movie being a big hit and this summer’s sequel looking to be even bigger. While Deadpool will appear in X-Force, star Ryan Reynolds has sounded less optimistic about a third solo film, But if Deadpool 2 makes all the money (it will), then surely Fox will pursue another movie. If Deadpool 3 does happen, here are some storylines we’d love to see considered… Deadpool Corps In the comics, the Deadpool Corps is a group of Deadpools from various alternate realities. The team is brought together by the Contemplator, who tasks the group with defeating the cosmic entity known as the Awerness.…

X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE Review
I didn’t want to watch this. But what can you do when you have someone pointing two katanas at you while strapping you down with the help of ducktape. X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a failed attempt of this katana-wielding supposed best friend. While I can’t see how this individual has a best friend (I’m kidding I’m kidding Mr. Pool), I have to admit that this truly is a failure of a movie. The movie starts off strong with the backstory of Wolverine (played by the everyone’s favorite Austrailian actor Hugh Jackman) and Sabertooth (played by Live Schreiber), two mutant brothers born in the 1800s (not the best time for mutants,…

Review: DEADPOOL
Grab some Chimichangas, because it’s time to review Deadpool. Also known as the funniest superhero movie ever made. By a landslide. Oh, I wasn’t supposed to show my cards so early into this review? Oops. Well, onto the lovefest… Deadpool is the first ever solo movie for the “Merc with a Mouth”, a wise-cracking, fast-talking antihero from the X-Men Comics. He was created by Fabian Nicieza and Rob Liefeld, and made his first appearance in issue #98 of The New Mutants back in February of 1991. It isn’t technically his first appearance on the big screen, nor is it Ryan Reynolds’ first time playing this character, but let’s not go further there. The story…
