Recap: ARROW S7 E12 – “Emerald Archer”
If you told me that Arrow’s 150th episode would take inspiration from The Office, I would’ve have thought you were crazy. Yet here we are. Emerald Archer takes a look back at Arrow’s long history. Paying tribute to our favorite hooded vigilante hero. The episode doesn’t start with Stephen Amell’s usual: “previously on Arrow.” Instead, we are treated to the classic Warner Bros. fanfare Follow by a special intro for the episode. Narrated by Kelsey Grammer, we see interviews and clips from people who worked with Team Arrow. Quinton Lance, Thea Queen, Sara Lance, Rory (Ragman), Ricardo Diaz, Cindy Simone, and even Barry Allen are interviewed for the special. Oliver’s legacy…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×12- “Memorabilia”
The Flash (5×12)- “Memorabilia” Written by: Sam Chalsen & Kristen Kim Directed by: Rebecca Johnson So we go from an episode with a title that plays on a popular film series to one that is nearly a triple entendre (Seeing Red because the Flash wears red, it’s slang for going mad with rage and a nod to the Emotional Spectrum) to an episode that when doing a title search tricks you into looking at Flash March. These people are sneaky. We open with Nora explaining to Eobard (and the audience via Voiceover) the mounting frustration she feels hiding whatever she and he are trying to accomplish with her trek through…

CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS Will Be the Arrowverse’s “Biggest and Most Complicated” Crossover Yet
The next Arrowverse crossover will adapt the Crisis on Infinite Earths story arc. As it was such a huge deal in the comics, fans are expecting to have a similar impact on television. Now, we have some new teases on what to expect. The CW president Mark Pedowitz has weighed in on Crisis on Infinite Earths, promising a big event. “It will be the biggest and most complicated [crossover yet].” The comic story saw the deaths of major characters, such as Flash and Supergirl. Will the Arrowverse go the same route? Pedowitz won’t confirm, but he does tease some ominous things for our heroes. “That is the intent, to take…

The CW Renews All Five DC Shows and RIVERDALE
The CW has announced its early renewals for the 2019-2020 television season. Unsurprisingly, all of the network’s biggest hits – including every single DC show – will be back for new seasons in the fall. Arrow will return for an eighth season. The Flash will be back for a sixth season. Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow are heading to their fifth seasons. Black Lightning‘s back for a third season. Riverdale will return for a fourth season. All six of these shows have been among The CW’s biggest successes, so there was little doubt that they’d be renewed. Additionally, this fall will see the Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover, which…

Recap: ARROW S7 E11 – “Past Sins”
After the events of the last episode, Past Sins turns the focus back on Oliver. We see him and Laurel doing some press, giving Star City some insight on the Green Arrow and their new District Attorney. Things seem to be going well, the interview was a hit. Of course, when two vigilantes go public they’re bound to get the attention of a few crazies. All of this is happening while Diggle and Curtis argue over the ethics of restarting the Task Force X program. Putting explosives in people’s head is a drastic measure after all. Diggle and Lyla round up some new recruits for their Suicide Squad. The team includes China…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×11- “Seeing Red”
The Flash (5×11)- “Seeing Red” Written by: Judalina Neira & Thomas Pound Directed by: Marcus Stokes From “The Flash and the Furious” to “Seeing Red.” Interesting progression. We open on Cicada and the anti-meta-human movement seems to be gaining steam. Someone in the CCPD leaked names and addresses of metas to his doctor friend and this lets him knock off a lot of metas in quick succession which brings Team Flash running and that’s where things go haywire when Cicada breaks Nora’s back. This episode kind of reminds people that while Barry is so packed full of Hope he could easily replace Adara as the embodiment of Hope in the…

The CW’s BATWOMAN Adds Luke Fox and Two More Characters to Cast
The CW has begun casting for its Batwoman pilot, starring Ruby Rose as Gotham City’s new vigilante. This week, three actors have joined the cast of the potential series, and one of them is playing a key member of the Bat-Family. According to Deadline, these actors have joined Batwoman… Meagan Tandy will play Sophie Moore, a high-level private security agent who firmly supports Gotham. Also, she shows a softer side that’s illuminated by Kate Kane’s return. Camrus Johnson will play Luke Fox, aka Batwing in the comics. In the show, Luke seeks to keep Wayne Tower secure in the wake of Bruce’s absence. Despite his own desire for the symbol,…

Recap: ARROW S7 E10 – My Name is Emiko Queen
Arrow returns for its mid-season premiere and returns to its roots. My Name is Emiko Queen is essentially an origin story for the new Green Arrow. This episode has a strong connection to Oliver’s story, even going as far for the title to be a direct reference to the show’s intro. The episode is almost too familiar. Emiko is the daughter of Robert Queen. She returns to Star City with only one goal, to avenge her mother’s death. Is this sounding familiar? This episode wants to focus on the parallels between Oliver and Emiko, but it becomes distracting. She’s just as brooding and stubborn as Olivers but it feels more…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×10- “The Flash and the Furious”
The Flash (5×10)- “The Flash and the Furious” Written by: Kelly Wheeler & Sterling Gates Directed by: David McWhirter Alright! The second half of Season five kicks off with a title I am genuinely surprised they didn’t use earlier. (It’s like how both the Bruce Timm Batman cartoon and “The Batman” reworked Batman film titles for Batgirl episodes, you just know the next Batman cartoon will have an episode called “Batgirl v Superman” at some point.) The episode opens pretty much where we left off in the 100th episode with Nora in the future talking with Eobard Thawne still looking like Wells. (They’ll have to explain that soon enough.) We…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×05- “All Doll’d Up”
The Flash (5×05)- “All Doll’d Up” Written by: Tony Pound & Sterling Gates Directed by: Philip Chipera Well what a time. I’ve been without a computer for pretty much the whole winter break and without a computer I can’t write reviews. (I have a phone but I’m not tapping out a review on that with my old man hands.) So, in short my big plan to clean up the episodes I missed was pretty much nuked and it’s scramble time. Anyways… For once those “Previously on the Flash…” Montages helped me out to remind of exactly what’s been going on going into this episode because I wasn’t watching too closely…
