Yesterday, Rocksteady officially announced the final game in its critically acclaimed Batman series, Batman: Arkham Knight. Arrow returns this week with S2E15, titled “The Promise”. The episode, which star Stephen Amell has called the best of the series, will deal with the beginning of Oliver Queen’s war against Slade Wilson in the remainder of the season. And now, we have a much better idea of what to expect. Before Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luthor in 2016’s Batman vs. Superman, Bryan Cranston was heavily rumored to land the role. However, it turns out he was never even approached. Appearing on The Howard Stern Show (via MLive), the Breaking Bad star confirmed that, while he would have loved to play Luthor, the role was never offered to him. “In the minds of fans, it’s true. After a lengthy search, Fox’s Gotham has finally found its future Batman. Actor David Mazouz (Touch) is set to filled the role of young Bruce Wayne in the prequel series. He was said to be an early favorite for the part. Deadline reveals that in Gotham, the preteen Wayne is “sentenced to a solitary life after the tragic murder of his wealthy parents and relies on the guidance and protection of Alfred Pennyworth and Jim Gordon.” The plan is for Mazouz to grow into the role as Wayne becomes Batman, which will happen by the end of the series. After months of rumors which climaxed in the past week, DC and Rocksteady have finally announced the next installment in the Batman: Arkham series. As reported yesterday, the game is titled Batman: Arkham Knight, and it will be released later this year. We heard some words from director Zack Snyder about Batman vs. Superman earlier today, and now, he has spoken in much more detail. In an interview with Hero Complex, the 300: Rise of an Empire producer offers a production update on the Man of Steel sequel. We have some more casting news for Fox’s Gotham. According to Deadline, Straw Dogs actor Drew Powell – who previously guest starred on True Blood, Bones, and NCIS – has landed a recurring role in the planned Batman prequel series. He will play a character named Butch Gilzean, who is described as “the deceptively clever and ambitious second-in-command to sadistic gangster boss Fish Mooney.” This is apparently a character created specifically for the series (like Mooney), and does not come from the comics. The past few days have seen a number of different rumors surrounding the next Batman video game. Well, it looks like we’ll finally get an answer tomorrow. The latest DC All-Access, which hits tomorrow, promises a video game-centric episode with a special announcement. Bleeding Cool says that it is indeed for the next Arkham title. Speaking with The Huffington Post while promoting 300: Rise of an Empire, Zack Snyder talks a bit about his upcoming Man of Steel sequel, aka Batman vs. Superman. As he only produced the 300 sequel, Snyder was asked if he could have directed it thanks to Batman vs. Superman‘s release date delay. “No, no. That’s why I couldn’t do it.
