Sony Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse has already assembled a great cast of web-slingers. The movie will star Shemaik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld as Spider-Gwen, and Jake Johnson as Peter Parker. Sony Picks Up SKYWARD Movie Adaptation from Director Brad Peyton
Another day, another comic book movie enters development. According to Variety, Sony Pictures has picked up the film rights to Image Comics’ Skyward, an original graphic novel by Lucifer showrunner Joe Henderson. Henderson is also writing the movie script, which will be directed by Rampage‘s Brad Peyton. Peyton gave the following statement on the announcement. “[Producer] Jeff [Fierson] and I are focused on making event films – regardless of budget or scope. Skyward is a big one. We’re very excited to deliver on what an anti-gravity movie should deliver on and be working with Joe Henderson on this.” Skyward depicts a reality where people have lived in low-gravity for 20 years.…

WATCHMEN Pilot Adds More to Cast, Including AQUAMAN’s Yahya Abdul-Mateen II
Production on Damon Lindelof’s Watchmen pilot is well underway, and the potential series is being headlined by the likes of Regina King and Jeremy Irons. Now, we have some more additions to the cast. HBO has announced (via TV Line) that actors Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Sara Vickers, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, and Jacob Ming-Trent have joined the Watchmen cast in major roles. This marks Abdul-Mateen II’s second DC role; he plays the villain Black Manta in this winter’s Aquaman movie. No character details have been disclosed yet.
