The San Diego Comic-Con panel for SyFy’s new Superman prequel series, Krypton just wrapped up. During the panel, we learned a lot more about what to expect from the show, as well as the arrival of several fan-favorite DC characters. Originally, we thought Krypton would just be an exploration of Kal-El’s lineage, set centuries before the planet’s destruction. Turns out it’s much more than that. At SDCC (via THR), Geoff Johns revealed that Krypton will revolve around a conspiracy theory that comes from the present day. “It’s a show that, although it takes place centuries ago on Krypton about the House of El, it’s about a conspiracy from the present…

IRON FIST Shaking Up Showrunners for Season 2
The first season of Iron Fist was underwhelming and not up-to-par with Netflix’s other three Marvel dramas for a good majority of fans and critics. However, Netflix renewed the show starring Game of Thrones’ Finn Jones for a second season yesterday. And with the new season comes a new showrunner. Entertainment Weekly has learned Scott Buck (Dexter) has stepped down as the show’s main writer. Filling that hole will be Raven Metzner (Sleepy Hollow, Falling Skies). Meanwhile, Loeb said the following about Metzner. “Raven’s love…

Geoff Johns Talks Expanding Batman’s Side of the DC Extended Universe
Batman plays a key role in DC Films’ team-up movies, and he will soon headline his own film. But beyond that, Warner Bros. has put movies starring Nightwing and Batgirl into development. Not to mention the Batman villains that play key roles in the Suicide Squad and Gotham City Sirens movies. And now, we have confirmation of DC’s plans to expand the Batman world beyond Batman. Appearing on IGN Live (via ScreenRant), DC Films’ Geoff Johns talked about how they wanted to bring Batman’s world to the big screen, in a way we haven’t seen before: We haven’t gone out there and said what our slate is and that’s because we’ll…

DC Announces its 2018 Animated Movies
At the Batman and Harley Quinn San Diego Comic-Con premiere panel last night, DC Entertainment announce its 2018 slate of animated movies. There are definitely a couple surprises in this lineup. As previously reported, the next DC movie is Batman: Gotham by Gaslight. Since the comic book of the same name is only 48 pages, the movie will expand the story. No word on cast or crew yet. Next, we have Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay. This will mark Task Force X’s first appearance in the DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU). Hell to Pay will have an original story, along with an “amazing” but yet-to-be-announced voice cast. And finally, later in…

As we get ready for Warner Bros.’ San Diego Comic-Con panel tomorrow, the rumor mill is on a roll. Today, we have a new rumor, and this one sounds…interesting, I guess? ScreenRant claims that WB and DC Films are developing a new Suicide Squad spin-off, tentatively called Harley Quinn vs. The Joker. The title is pretty self-explanatory. Also, the site claims that this is indeed a separate project from Suicide Squad 2 and Gotham City Sirens, both of which will also star Harley. Margot Robbie and Jared Leto are attached to reprise their respective roles, while Geoff Johns will produce. The site offers no other details, but suggests that we…

David Ayer Explains Why He’s Directing GOTHAM CITY SIRENS Instead of SUICIDE SQUAD 2
Hot off the heels of Suicide Squad‘s success last year, Warner Bros. began developing ways to expand the franchise. One of those ways is Gotham City Sirens, which is expected to see Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn team up with Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Squad director David Ayer is helming this spin-off, rather than returning for the direct sequel. Why is that? Speaking with IGN at San Diego Comic-Con, Ayer explains why he is directing Gotham City Sirens. “It’s a story about three fantastic women who’re trying to find their way in the world, and realize that they have more power together than they do individually. I have daughters, and I…
