Review: INHUMANS: The IMAX Experience
When you think of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, you think of The Avengers, The Defenders, Spider-Man, and The Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel continues to expand their brand through movies and television. Things haven’t been perfect with movies like Thor: The Dark World or shows like Iron Fist, but they always found a way to bounce back, giving us Avengers: Age of Ultron and The Defenders respectively. Even Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. got significantly better after the Hydra reveal in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Unfortunately, In the case of Inhumans, they don’t have the rest of the Marvel Universe to fall back on. It’s a self-contained series, taking place on a completely different planet. How does it stand on its own? Let’s…

However, Warner Bros. is also expanding this Batman’s world with not only his own movie, but several spin-offs. Films starring Nightwing, Batgirl, and the Gotham City Sirens are in development. Meanwhile, Harley Quinn and Joker – who already play key roles in the Suicide Squad franchise – will star in their own movie. And, going outside of the DCEU, a movie retelling Joker’s origin will spearhead WB’s new Elseworlds banner. Of course, there’s potential for more movies beyond…

Warner Bros. Wants Leonardo DiCaprio to Star in the Joker Movie
A couple weeks ago, it was revealed that Warner Bros. is developing a standalone film that tells Joker’s origin story. Todd Phillips is directing, while Martin Scorsese is in talks to produce. The movie takes place in 1980s Gotham City, telling a “gritty” story that’s separate from the DC Extended Universe. In fact, the film is part of a new DC movie banner that features non-canon stories. Now, we have a better idea of just how high WB’s ambitions for this movie are. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is interested in casting Leonardo DiCaprio in the Joker movie, and they’re using Scorsese’s potential involvement to try to lure…

Screentests Have Started For SHAZAM!
Shazam!, the next film on DC’s schedule sent out a casting call last week. According to MovieHole, Warner Brothers has opened the call to a wide range of actors. Meaning Billy Batson and his alter ego Shazam, could possibly be played by unknown actors. This is similar to what Marvel/Sony did with Spider-Man or what LucasFilm has done with their Star Wars cast. It’s easier for a fresh face to take on a role and essentially become that character; Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman is a prime example of this being a strength. Shazam! will be looking to blend action and humor. Giving it a more family friendly vibe compared to…
