The cast and crew of Gotham have been rewarded for pulling in a big audience.   Fox network has ordered six more episodes, upping the number to twenty-two. Dana Walden and Gary Newman, the chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, had high praise for the series when they announced the additional order:  “Gotham debuted as one of the most buzzed-about shows of the fall, and with good reason.”  Factoring in streaming and DVRs the series debuted with 14.1 million viewers in the first seven days, with very strong numbers in the coveted 18-49 year-olds demographic.  The result was the highest drama debut on Fox in fourteen years. With filming on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice well underway, details on the highly anticipated superhero movie have been scarce. However, producer Charles Roven opens up in a new interview for The Hollywood Masters series, and he offers some very interesting new details on the Justice League prequel. At its “DC Digital: Download This!” panel at New York Comic-Con, DC Entertainment announced a new digital first comic title, Wonder Woman ’77. Based on the iconic 1970s television series starring Lynda Carter, this title will begin its run digitally in December with six weekly chapters. These chapters will then be collected in two print issues slated for an early 2015 release, and the series will resume in the spring. One of the most exciting casting additions to LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham is Arrow star Stephen Amell, who voices Oliver Queen/Green Arrow in the highly anticipated video game. During the game’s New York Comic-Con panel today, the Emerald Archer’s presence was significantly expanded. A DLC pack based on The CW’s Arrow was announced, with Amell reprising the role of The Arrow. It will be available for PlayStation 3 and 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC/Mac. After playing the Caped Crusader twice in 1989’s Batman and 1992’s Batman Returns, Michael Keaton sat out on the third installment when Warner Bros. opted for a more family friendly tone. With the long-awaited Justice League movie set to follow Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2017 or 2018, there has been much speculation over who the main villain will be. Darkseid has been seen as the obvious choice for years, as he has fought the League many times, most recently in the New 52 “Origin” storyline. The LEGO Movie was one of the most successful movies of 2014, cementing the popularity of the biggest toy brand of all time. Unsurprisingly, a sequel was dated for May 2017 shortly after the first film’s release, with a Ninjago movie set for a Fall 2016 debut. With the release of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham set for November 11th, Cartoon Network has announced a new tie-in for the highly anticipated video game. The network has revealed plans to air a one-shot special titled LEGO DC Comics: Batman Be-Leaguered, which is set to premiere Monday, October 27th at 6 PM ET/PT. Fresh off the most watched series debut on the CW since the Vampire Diaries, the producers of the Flash have made two casting announcements today.  Veteran actor, Victor Garber will be playing Dr. Martin Stein while Smash’s Andy Mientus will be playing Hartley Rathaway aka the Pied Piper.
