Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. Netflix’s severance of its relationship with Marvel continues. After cancelling Iron Fist and Luke Cage, the streaming platform has now ended its original Marvel series. Daredevil has been cancelled after a three-season run. The show premiered its critically acclaimed third season just last month, and fans have been anxious for a fourth season. Daredevil Season 3 is only one day away, and your favorite Swedish geek is as hyped towards it as you are. Daredevil is my favorite of the Netflix Marvel shows, even though I still laugh that Matt Murdock is played by the same actor who plays the lead in Mathew Vaughn’s Stardust. When I first watched Season 1 of Daredevil, three things struck me. The first was the high degree of violence. The MCU up to this point had consisted of adventure violence, where nobody was badly hurt. But Daredevil opens with Karen Page literally kneeling in a pool of blood. Dark imagery that sets the tone of the whole show. Second thing that struck me was how Daredevil is primarily a villain’s show. The character of Wilson Fisk dominates everything. After a series of promos and hints, Netflix has finally dropped the full trailer for the third season of Marvel’s Daredevil, just in time for its New York Comic-Con panel this week. And boy, does it deliver. The trailer is packed with new footage, teasing stunning new action sequences and more. It also sets up the new conflict between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, with the latter implementing new strategies to take down the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
