BATWOMAN Changes Directors; Dougray Scott Cast as Jacob Kane
We have an update on the Batwoman pilot! Jacob Kane has been cast; and the show gets a new director. According to Entertainment Weekly, director Marcos Siega has replaced the previous, David Nutter for the Batwoman pilot. Nutter has stepped away for personal reasons. He will still serve as an executive producer on the pilot. Siega has done pilot work for the CW in the past with the Vampire Diaries, and shows for other networks such as God Friended Me, The Following, and The Passage. Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. There are loads of animated movies coming from DC this year, with Reign of the Supermen already out and Batman: Hush, Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, and Justice League vs. The Fatal Five to come. We’ve already talked countless times about Aquaman‘s huge success. With a $1.1 billion gross worldwide, it’s inevitable for at least one sequel to happen. Now, Arthur Curry’s next adventure is setting sail. Screenwriter David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick has been hired to work on Aquaman 2. DC Films‘ Aquaman is a massive hit, to put it lightly. The movie has earned more than $1 billion at the worldwide box office.
