Review: THOR: THE DARK WORLD (2013)
How do you make a good movie from a weak script? It’s hard, but Thor: The Dark World manages to pull it off; albeit, with very few of the character developments viewers have grown to expect from Marvel. Once again, the cast is mostly great. The Thor films really get the right folks for the job, and it gives these characters a nice dynamic. Chris Hemsworth IS Thor. He brings all the gravitas to the hero while incorporating a greater sense of maturity to the role. Natalie Portman is good as Jane Foster, though quite underdeveloped by the weak script. Hulk(2003)Directed By: Ang Lee Hulk(2003) is the first live action movie that brings the famous green avenger to the big screen. Unfortunately, it sorely does Hulk a true injustice. Hulk is a hidden marvel of a superhero. He’s an extraordinary scientist and doctor as Bruce Banner, who in a mishap with radiation is mutated into an enormous green monster, with super human strength that can increase depending on his rage. He’s a hero in both realms of superherodom and in nuclear research. Looking back at the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is always a fun thing to do. Seeing how the Marvel films have come is still mind-boggling. Ben Mendelsohn in Talks to Join CAPTAIN MARVEL
It seems like the rich get richer. Academy Award-Winning actress Brie Larson is set to star as the main character, legendary actor Samuel L. Jackson is set to co-star, and now esteemed actor Ben Mendelsohn is in talks to join Captain Marvel as the main villain. The news is coming from The Wrap, and they believe that Mendelsohn could be playing the leader of the Skrulls. Full-Length BLACK PANTHER Trailer Arrives!
Our first full-length theatrical trailer for next February’s Black Panther has arrived! In the trailer, we get a better look at the world of Wakanda, where T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) is the newly-crowned king. However, Erik Killmonger (great last name, Michael B. GAMBIT Gets a 2019 Release Date
Fox is looking to strike gold once again! After Deadpool smashed box office records last year, the studio is hoping Gambit will have the same kind of success. The film is scheduled to release on February 14th, 2019. With a director in place and Tatum ready to star things should start ramping up fairly soon. The First Trailer for THE NEW MUTANTS Has Dropped
We finally have our first look at a post-Logan X-Men film. 20th Century Fox dropped the trailer early this morning. The New Mutants is a twist on the X-Men franchise. This film looks to be more of a horror movie. Do we have something new to fear? Find out below. Well, that’s definitely not the X-Men I remember. It’ll be interesting to see how this one plays out. JUSTICE LEAGUE: J.K. Simmons talks Reshoots and Jim Gordon
J.K. Simmons has been back in the studio according to comicbookmovie.com. He recently did some Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) for Warner Brothers, so Justice League is going down to the wire, wanting this movie to be as perfect as it can be. Simmons also talked about his role in the movie, saying “Don’t blink and you’ll miss it”. His role is small, but he was obviously excited to work with Ben Affleck again in The Batman, in a hopefully bigger role. SUICIDE SQUAD: Leto sticks to his Rule of Thumb
According to comicbook.com, Jared Leto has decided to not watch his performance in Suicide Squad. Leto has said that watching his own performances makes him self conscious, or prone to repeat his performances. Leto has said that he even hasn’t watched his Oscar winning performance in Dallas Buyers Club. He’ll break the rule for a few movies, like Requiem for a Dream, and Blade Runner 2049, but has decided for now, he won’t be watching the middling performance he gave in Suicide Squad. FEATURE: Five More X-MEN Spin-Off Movies We Want to See
Few could have predicted just how long the X-Men franchise would last. 17 years later, and the series has put out ten movies to date. We’ve had the main trilogy set in the present day, with another trilogy exploring the past. We also have three Wolverine movies and a Deadpool film. Next year, Fox is releasing New Mutants, Deadpool 2, and Dark Phoenix. Movies featuring Gambit, X-Force, X-23, Exiles, and Alpha Flight are also in various stages of development. Of course, that’s not the end. The X-Men universe is vast, and it can easily live on for another decade or so. There is definitely potential to add several more spin-offs…
