Over the past year, Suicide Squad has generated plenty of hype and anticipation. This is thanks to a strong marketing campaign, a unique concept for a comic book movie, and a stellar A-list cast. DC Collectibles Unveils New Wave of Action Figures for DC’s Television Heroes
DC Collectibles will be expanding its action figure line for the company’s television shows, and courtesy of TV Insider, we have a first look. All of these figures will be released next year. They are based on characters from Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl. The wave will begin rolling out in stores in February with the release of Firestorm and Hawkgirl from Legends of Tomorrow. The former figure is sculpted by Chris Dahlberg and Paul Harding, while the latter is designed by Steve Kiwus. The Hawkgirl figure’s wings can be opened and closed, with a wingspan of 13 inches. SUPERGIRL Casts Snapper Carr for Season 2; Tyler Hoechlin Talks Playing Superman
Today, we have some news tidbits for Supergirl‘s second season. First off, according to Entertainment Weekly, Cougar Town actor Ian Gomez will play DC Comics character Snapper Carr. He will make his first appearance in episode two of the new season. On Supergirl, Carr is a “headstrong” newsman hired by Cat Grant as the editor-in-chief of CatCo Magazine. In this position, Carr pushes CatCo’s reporters to pursue excellence and dig deeper into their stories. The Flash introduced Wally West, now the brother of Iris, last season. Inevitably, this spawned speculation from fans that Wally would go on to become Kid Flash in the series. This was strongly hinted at near the end of season two. Now, it’s happening. The CW has released two first-look images of Wally suited up as Kid Flash. It was widely expected, and now it’s been confirmed. Warner Bros. has announced that Wonder Woman will be present at its Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. The panel takes place on Saturday, July 23rd at 11:30 AM. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins will be in attendance, along with stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Connie Nielsen. Last year, it was confirmed that Ben Affleck’s Batman will appear in the Suicide Squad movie. Since then, we’ve seen glimpses of him in the marketing, but the exact nature of his role – clearly more than a mere cameo – is unknown. Now, writer-director David Ayer sheds some light. Warner Bros. is expected to showcase many of its upcoming films, including DC movies, at San Diego Comic-Con later this month. Suicide Squad and The LEGO Batman Movie are confirmed to appear, while Wonder Woman and Justice League will likely be present as well. ARROW’s John Barrowman Upgraded to Series Regular for All The CW’s DC Shows
Malcolm Merlyn, played by John Barrowman, served as the big bad of Arrow‘s first season and appeared in a couple of episodes in season two. Then, in seasons three and four, the character was a series regular. He also popped up on The Flash during last season’s two-part crossover. New Screenwriter Hired for THE LEGO MOVIE SEQUEL
Recently, it was announced that Warner Bros. has delayed The LEGO Movie Sequel to a February 8th, 2019 release. This puts it almost a year later than its original May 2018 date. Now, more changes for the animated sequel are underway, as a new writer has been hired. According to Variety, BoJack Horseman creator Raphael Bob-Waksberg is set to rewrite the script for The LEGO Movie Sequel. This marks his first film job, following his work on television.
