Release Date and Bonus Features Unveiled for BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE
We recently saw the trailer for Batman: The Killing Joke, DC’s R-rated animated adaptation of the graphic novel of the same name. Now, we know when the movie will be available on home video, along with the bonus features that will be on the Blu-Ray release. Warner Bros. confirms to Entertainment Weekly that The Killing Joke will be released on Blu-Ray on August 2nd, 2016. Two New Characters Being Cast for LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Season 2
There are only three episodes left in the first season of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, but casting is already underway for the show’s second season. According to TV Line, the series is looking to add two new characters. They will both be series regular roles for season two. Funko is getting ready to launch its second Legion of Collectors box, which is focused on DC Entertainment’s television shows. Now, the company has unveiled the theme for the next box, and it’s another movie-related one. The next Legion of Collectors box will be released this July, and the theme is the Suicide Squad movie. This marked the sixth weekend of release for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Here, we have the latest box office gross for the DC superhero ensemble, as well as its domestic gross this weekend. According to Deadline, Batman v Superman fell to #9 in the list of Top 10 films in North America this weekend, grossing $3.8 million. This brings its domestic total to $325.1 million. Internationally, the film has grossed $537.8 million. Combine this with its domestic total, and the movie’s worldwide gross is $862.9 million. Jeremy Irons Confirms His Return as Alfred for JUSTICE LEAGUE
One of the highlights of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was Alfred Pennyworth, played wonderfully by Jeremy Irons. This take on Bruce Wayne’s butler is a worthy addition to the long line of portrayals of the character. Director Seth Grahame-Smith Drops Out of THE FLASH Due to “Creative Differences”
A few months ago, Seth Grahame-Smith was hired to write and direct Warner Bros.’ The Flash, which will star Ezra Miller as the Scarlet Speedster. His script is based on a story treatment written by Chris Miller and Phil Lord. However, it looks like the director’s chair for the DC film is now empty. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Grahame-Smith has exited The Flash, citing the common “creative differences” reason. The movie would have marked his feature directorial debut. J.K. Simmons Says He Has a “Very Small” Role in JUSTICE LEAGUE
In an interview with DP/30 (transcription via Comic Book), J.K. Simmons talks more about his role as Commissioner James Gordon in Justice League. While the DC superhero epic began production a few weeks ago, Simmons reaffirms that he doesn’t start shooting until June. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been in theaters for a month now, and this is now its fifth weekend of release. How did the DC superhero ensemble fare at the box office this weekend?
