GOTHAM Officially Ordered To Series By Fox [UPDATE: First Trailer To Premiere Tonight]
It has been expected since the pilot order, but now it’s official. Fox has officially ordered the Batman prequel Gotham to series, giving it a slot on the network’s 2014-2015 schedule. The show, which stars Ben McKenzie as Det. James Gordon, is described as “an origin story of the great DC Comics super-villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told.” The pilot, written by Bruno Heller and directed by Danny Cannon, is expected to premiere this fall. Blu-Ray Cover Art For DC Animated Feature BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM Unveiled
We recently saw the first trailer for DC’s next animated movie, Batman: Assault on Arkham, which is set in the universe of the acclaimed Arkham video game series. And now, Warner Bros. has released the Blu-Ray cover, featuring the Dark Knight as well as the Suicide Squad. Assault on Arkham follows the supervillain team – consisting of Deadshot and Harley Quinn, among others – as they attempt to defeat the Joker, who has planted a bomb in Arkham Asylum. Miniseries Adaptation Of Frank Miller’s RONIN In Development At SyFy
SyFy announced a slew of new potential shows today, and among them is an adaptation of Ronin, which was written and drawn by the iconic Frank Miller. Via The Hollywood Reporter, the television network is developing the DC Comics story as a possible miniseries. It’s unknown how many episodes will be used to bring the six-issue comic series to life, and a writer is currently being sought. Last year saw the release of the DC fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us. The title was a huge success, spawning an iOS version as well as a strongly received comic book series. Last night, it was announced that a Justice League movie is officially set to follow Superman vs. Batman, with Zack Snyder on board to direct both. This move once again proves Warner Bros.’ interest in exploiting its DC Comics catalog. Now, we have another tidbit of info regarding the studio’s long-term development.
