VENOM Actor Woody Harrelson Teases Larger Role in Potential Sequel
A while back, we heard that Woody Harrelson had joined the cast of Sony’s Venom movie. His exact character has been kept under wraps, which led to a lot of rumors/speculation that he’s playing Cletus Kasady, aka Carnage. Now, the actor has given a new hint at his role. Speaking with Collider, Harrelson shares his excitement for Venom, saying he was excited to re-team with director Ruben Fleischer and work with Tom Hardy. James Mangold to Direct Boba Fett Movie for Lucasfilm
In addition to the main saga films, Lucasfilm and Disney have been developing several standalone Star Wars stories. One movie that has been long expected is a spinoff starring Boba Fett, the fan-favorite bounty hunter from the original trilogy. Now, it’s moving forward with a director. According to The Hollywood Reporter, James Mangold is writing the Boba Fett movie, and he will direct it too. Most recently, Mangold co-wrote and directed the Academy Award-nominated Wolverine movie Logan. Sony is moving forward with its Bloodshot adaptation, which kicks off the studio’s shared universe based on Valiant Comics. Vin Diesel is starring, with Dave Wilson attached to direct. Now, we have some more casting news. According to Variety, actors Eiza González, Michael Sheen, and Sam Heughan are in talks to join the cast of Bloodshot. Their potential characters are currently unknown. Bloodshot, the first of a five-movie plan, is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2019. Liam Neeson in Talks to Join MEN IN BLACK Spinoff
Casting is well underway for Sony’s next Men in Black movie, which expands the franchise with a new cast of characters. Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson are on board to star, with F. Gary Gray attached to direct. Now, another A-list actor may be joining. According to Variety, action veteran Liam Neeson is in talks to join the new Men in Black. Deadpool 2 hit theaters this past weekend, racking up a solid opening and setting it up for a lot of money. FEATURE: Five STAR WARS Standalone Stories We Want to See
In addition to the core saga films, Disney is expanding the Star Wars franchise with many standalone movies. We got Rogue One in 2016, with Solo arriving soon. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi is getting his own film (eventually), The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson is overseeing a new trilogy, and a separate series from the Game of Thrones creators is in the works.
