Review: THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY Season 1
The Umbrella Academy follows a family of eccentric superheroes that reunite when their adopted father, Sir Reginald Hargreeves (Colm Feore); who has suddenly and mysteriously passes away. When I first saw the trailer for The Umbrella Academy, I did not know what to expect. I knew it was adapted a Dark Horse comic created by Gerard Way, the former lead singer of My Chemical Romance. When I saw the trailer, it gave me the feeling that I was witnessing something odd. Ten episodes later, and I think I’ve found my new favorite Netflix show. While I have seen Stranger Things, The Umbrella Academy is not your average TV show. This…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×15- “King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd”
The Flash (5×15)- “King Shark vs Gorilla Grodd” Written by: Eric Wallace & Lauren Certo Directed by: Stefan Pleszczynski Let’s get this out of the way right off the bat: This was another filler episode. However, we should all be aware of that by now considering the cost prohibitive nature of Gorilla Grodd episodes. A CGI Gorilla just can’t be a big part of this series with the budget restraints of having this show on the CW, no matter how much I’d like him to be. But I have to give credit to the producers; every time they bring Grodd in it’s as a big deal. They also do a…

But, alas, all good things must come to an end. The CW has confirmed that Arrow will be ending this fall, with its previously announced eighth season. The final season will run for an abbreviated 10 episodes. This is much shorter than the usual 23 episodes per season. Showrunner Beth Schwartz and…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×14- “Cause and XS”
The Flash (5×14)- “Cause and XS” Written by: Todd Helbing & Jeff Hersh Directed by: Rachel Talalay With new episodes coming up this week, I better take time out of my busy schedule to review the last episode. Cause and XS! continues this strange Flash tradition of putting out holiday episodes a week after the holiday… This time they’re celebrating Groundhog’s Day not with a prognosticating rodent but with a time loop. Of course, the time loop isn’t just a staple of Bill Murray movies. It’s a sci-fi staple going way back with shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation, Stargate SG-1 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer all throwing their…
