THE PUNISHER and JESSICA JONES Cancelled, as the Marvel/Netflix Affair Finally Ends
Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. And now, Netflix has confirmed the future (or lack thereof) of its final two shows. It has been announced that The Punisher and Jessica Jones have both been cancelled. The former premiered its season season last month. Meanwhile, Jessica Jones‘ third season is still set to debut sometime this year. This marks the official end of the Netflix/Marvel TV deal; every single show has been cancelled. Following the announcement, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb…

FEATURE: Five Shows We Want To See On DC Universe
With Doom Patrol now airing on DC’s streaming service, I thought to myself what other properties would be a great fit for the DC Universe streaming service? I really do believe that superhero-properties fits better as TV-shows due to the serialized nature of the comic books. These are five shows we want on DCU! Justice League Dark This feels like a no-brainer to me, the short-lived Constantine series on NBC was really good in my opinion but sadly NBC cancelled it after just one season. The CW however retroactively weaved in Matt Ryan’s version of Constantine into the Arrowverse. With shorter seasons and a bigger budget, I really think that…

Review: DOOM PATROL “Pilot”
“In the series premiere episode, the team – tired of being stuck in Doom Manor – decides to visit the local town while The Chief is away. However, this seemingly harmless field trip leads to some grave consequences, including an encounter with the mysterious and powerful Mr. Nobody (series star Alan Tudyk)” official synopsis – Doom Patrol “Pilot” Hot dang. That’s a way to start a show. The End (Just Kidding) Doom Patrol “Pilot” starts the series off right. The beginning team as it starts is Niles Caulder/The Chief (Timothy Dalton), Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer/Matthew Zuk), Cliff Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser/Riley Shanahan), Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), and Kay Challis/Crazy Jane(Diane Guerrero). The show introduces each character one by one.…

Review – Attack on Titan season 3 Part 1
This is a review of the first half of season 3. If you’d like to catch up, or remind yourself of what happened previously, check out my review of season 1 HERE, and my review of season 2 HERE. Season 3 starts with Eren Jaeger and his friends joining commander Levi Ackerman’s squad against the giant human-eating titans. Everything looks to be as usual until the group gets targeted by a mysterious individual who wants to obtain Eren and Christa. With every zombie story, a conflict between human fractions is unavoidable. The way the anime adapts the original creator Hajime Isayama‘s version of this type of conflict is excellent. It…

Recap: ARROW S7 E13 – “Star City Slayer”
Coming off of the stellar milestone episode last week, things get darker in this episode. Oliver is trying to mend his relationship with William, but things don’t seem to be progressing. William is a kid who’s been kidnapped, drugged, and attacked by a mob boss. He’s lived a rough life, and it all started when he met Oliver. The family drama keeps Oliver from suiting up the entire episode. The chemistry between Stephen Amell (Oliver), Emily Bett Rickards (Felicity), and Jack Moore (William) is so strong. It really makes these scenes worth it. While Ollie is dealing with his son, the rest of the gang take on the Star City…

Marvel and Hulu Team Up for Slate of Animated Shows Starring Howard the Duck, M.O.D.O.K. and More
Following the success of Runaways, Marvel Television and Hulu are expanding their partnership in a big way. The two have announced a slate of adult animated shows. There will be four ongoing shows and a special animated event – a deal that doesn’t sound too different from the original Marvel/Netflix deal. Howard the Duck sees everyone’s favorite duck trapped in a new world. He must team up with his gal pal Beverly to escape from the villainous Dr. Bong. Kevin Smith and Will Davis are writing. M.O.D.O.K. focuses on the Marvel villain struggling to maintain control of his organization and his family. This is written by Patton Oswalt and Jordan…

FLASH SPOILER Review: Episode 5×13- “Goldfaced”
The Flash (5×13)- “Goldfaced” Written by: Jonathan Butler & Gabriel Garza Directed by: Alexandra La Roche “Goldface…” Well there’s worse names that start with Gold. Were you expecting someone else? Let’s cut to the chase, we have ourselves a very interesting theme for this week’s episode: Characters being manipulated into doing something ill-advised through the manipulation of their egos: Even though the episode is named after another plotline, the big story of this week’s episode is that Sherloque is on the brink of discovering that Nora came back from the future to stop Cicada. You’d think this would be fine with Barry, “Hey thanks Nora for stopping this serial killer…

Danai Gurira is Leaving THE WALKING DEAD in Season 10
Danai Gurira joined the cast of The Walking Dead in season three, playing fan-favorite Michonne. The character has played a key role since then, but on this show, anyone can leave at any time. Even lead man Andrew Lincoln, who plays Rick Grimes, left this season. Now, the end is near for Michonne. It has been announced that Gurira has signed one final deal for The Walking Dead, which was just renewed for season ten. She will appear in a handful of episodes throughout the season. After that, she will likely transition to AMC‘s trilogy of movies starring Rick. Michonne’s exit will mark a blow to The Walking Dead, but…
