Joe Morton Talks CYBORG Movie and the Relationship Between Victor and Silas Stone
We briefly met Dr. Silas Stone (played by Joe Morton) in the Justice League cameo montage in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where he was recording his efforts to save his son, Victor. The clip ended with a first glimpse of Victor’s transformation into Cyborg. Dr. Stone will be returning in this fall’s Justice League and the eventual Cyborg movie. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Swings Past $700 Million at Worldwide Box Office
Another day, another box office milestone achieved by Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. The critically acclaimed reboot crossed the $300 million domestic mark the other day, and this weekend, it’s reached a key worldwide benchmark. According to Box Office Mojo, Homecoming made an estimated $6.1 million this weekend in North America, ranking at #7 in the week’s top ten. This brings its domestic total to $306.5 million, with its its international total at $395.6 million. Its worldwide total is now $702.1 million, bringing the movie past the coveted $700 million mark. Sony Sets 2019 Release Date for SILVER AND BLACK
Sony is moving forward with its slate of Spider-Man-based films, which (as of right now anyways) aren’t actually connected to Spider-Man and aren’t in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following next fall’s Venom, Sony will release Silver and Black, which teams up Silver Sable with Black Cat. Now, we have a release date. Sony has announced that Silver and Black will hit theaters on February 8th, 2019. This makes it the first comic book movie of that year; Fox previously set an untitled Marvel movie for the week after on February 15th. Production will begin sometime this fall. After being attached for several months, director Doug Liman dropped out of DC Films’ Justice League Dark earlier this year. Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming has been one of the biggest movies of the summer, fueled strong reviews from critics and a solid box office run. DC Films’ Wonder Woman is undeniably the movie of the summer. The film has earned rave reviews from critics and audiences, while it surpassed $400 million at the domestic box office this week – only the second film to do so this year (so far). DC TV Casting News Bits: ARROW, SUPERGIRL, BLACK LIGHTNING, THE FLASH
While we wait for our favorite DC shows to come back on The CW, we have some casting tidbits for next season. Arrow and Supergirl are adding new characters, Black Lightning has found its big bad, and The Flash has added a new villain. According to TV Line, Arrow is currently seeking an Australian actor to play an “introverted, moody and naturally athletic” teenager in a guest-starring role.
