Opinion: Why ATTACK ON TITAN Needs Another Live Action Adaptation
After my reviews (or should I call them rants) of the live-action adaptations, you probably did not expect this post (unless you read the schedule obviously). I’ve always believed that Attack on Titan is a franchise with cinematic potential. A failed attempt, no matter if it is from the land where the source material comes from or an attempt from the west. No matter what your thoughts are about Netflix’s adaptation of Death Note, there is a successful live-action adaptation from Japan. On the western side, we have the live-action adaptation of the light novel with the name of All You Need is Kill, or Edge of Tomorrow as the…

DC Beefs Animated Slate to 4 Movies Next Year; Featuring BATMAN: HUSH, WONDER WOMAN and More
Last night, DC Entertainment held the world premiere of its latest animated movie, The Death of Superman, at San Diego Comic-Con. During the panel, DC announced the 2019 slate of original animated movies, but with a twist. While DC normally does three movies per year, 2019 will have four films. As previously announced, Reign of the Supermen will be released early next year. This film is the direct sequel to The Death of Superman, fulfilling the promise of a two-part adaptation of the iconic storyline. Later next spring, DC will release Justice League vs. The Fatal Five. The film, which has an original story, will bring the supervillain group The…

STAR WARS: New Books and Comics Announced
The next round of Star Wars novels and comics will flesh out the prequel era! We’re getting a ginormous list from Del Rey, and I’m excited! I’ve got my highlighted publications from the panel below. Queen’s Shadow By: E.K. Johnston This book will follow Padme Amidala as she transitions from queen of Naboo to senator of Naboo. E.K. Johnston wrote Ahsoka, and she did a phenomenal job with that novel, so I’m excited to see what she can do with a different character. Queen’s Shadow will be released March 5 2019 Star Wars: Master and Apprentice By: Claudia Grey This book will follow Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi before the events of…

James Gunn Fired from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3
Early this morning, old tweets from Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn resurfaced. The tweets were full of jokes about pedophilia, rape, and more. Naturally, this spawned much outrage on social media. Gunn responded with an apology explanation, saying that he has grown and doesn’t make jokes like that anymore. He then deleted his Twitter account. Regardless, the damage is done. Disney has announced that Gunn has been fired from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Chairman Alan Horn gave the following statement (via THR). “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with…

ATTACK ON TITAN 2 Video Game Review
In Attack on Titans 2, you play through season one and two of the anime. However, instead of playing as any of the pre-existing characters you play as a self-created Avatar. Using an Avatar in a game that wants to re-tell an already told story is always a red flag for me, and this game was no exception. Granted, I get the appeal of being able to be “you”, interacting with your favorite character no matter the franchise. The outcome can only end up in two ways. A) The game is treating your Avatar as a side character, interacting with the other characters. While you get praise and accomplish things,…

JUSTICE LEAGUE: Henry Cavill Says Snyder-Cut Wouldn’t Make a Difference
Henry Cavill spoke on the “Snyder-Cut” opportunity during his press tour for Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He doesn’t know if one actually exists or not, but he does think if one did exist, it wouldn’t make a difference. He says it might be entertaining, but it wouldn’t change what happened in Justice League, and ultimately it wouldn’t make money for the studio, so while it would be interesting to see the differences, the future is where it’s at. In the interview with Yahoo, he also talked about his hopes for Man of Steel 2, and what comic book story he would like to base it around. Brian Azzarello’s For Tomorrow…
