AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Already Renewed for Season 7
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be back for its season six premiere until next summer, but the Marvel series is already confirmed to live on beyond that. ABC has announced that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will return for a seventh season. Despite the show’s consistently low ratings, ABC has shown confidence in its creative direction. It is also an opportunity to push the Marvel brand on a weekly basis. No premiere date for season seven has been confirmed yet, but expect it to begin sometime in 2020. AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Shifting to Summer for Season 6
Despite being one of the network’s lowest-rated shows, ABC renewed Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for a sixth season. The new season will run for 13 episodes, which is a much smaller order than the usual 22. While it was originally reported to be held until midseason, it turns out we’re gonna have to wait even longer. ABC announced at Upfronts today (via TV Line) that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. won’t be back until summer 2019. Network president Channing Dungey says that this was ABC’s decision, and the network hopes that the summer slot will bring more success to the show, and thus, keep it running longer. While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has received solid buzz from fans and critics with each season, the show has had a decline in ratings for some time now. The fact that ABC placed this season in the dreaded Friday night slot didn’t help any. Who is Dove Cameron Playing on AGENTS OF SHIELD?
The casting keeps comin’ and they don’t stop comin’! Entertainment Weekly has the scoop on a new character coming to Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD. Actress Dove Cameron, star of Disney’s Descendants and the voice of Spider-Gwen in Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, has been cast in the role of Ruby, described as “a young woman of cunning intelligence who has a mysterious obsession with Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet).” Cameron’s character is also the daughter of General Hale, played by Catherine Dent.
