Arrowverse Crossover Gets a Title, Adds The Monitor
A lot of details on this year’s Arrowverse crossover are being kept under wraps. The three-episode event will feature Batwoman, Superman, Lois Lane, Nora Fries, and more characters. We will also be visiting Gotham City and Arkham Asylum. Now, we know what the title is, while a key DC character has been cast. This year’s crossover event is titled “Elseworlds.” Any diehard DC Comics fan will immediately identify that name. Traditionally, Elseworlds was the name of a banner for non-canon stories by DC. Welcome back to the latest round of TV News Bits. This installment is mostly DC-centric, but we have a good update for a hit Marvel Netflix series too. HBO’s Watchmen series has recruited Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to compose the score. The two have worked together for a few years now, including their collaborations with director David Fincher. TV Casting: DC Universe Casts STARGIRL, Arrowverse Crossover Finds its Villain
We have a couple of big DC TV casting updates. DC Universe has found the titular hero of its next original series, while this year’s Arrowverse crossover now has a villain. The Goldbergs actress Brec Bassinger is set to star as Courtney Whitmore in Stargirl, a new show on DC Universe. The series revolves around Whitmore, a high school sophomore who is adjusting to a new school in Blue Valley, Nebraska. Along the way, she discovers that her stepfather used to be a superhero’s sidekick, and with a cosmic staff, she will inspire a new generation of heroes. Arrowverse’s Batwoman Crossover Casts Cassandra Jean Amell as Nora Fries
This year’s Arrowverse crossover event is a big one, despite not involving Legends of Tomorrow. The event introduces Batwoman and Lois Lane to the universe, while Superman is returning. Now, The CW has announced another key addition. Cassandra Jean Amell – aka the real-life wife of Arrow star Stephen Amell – is set to play Nora Fries in the crossover. Fries is the wife of Batman villain Victor Fries, aka Mr. Freeze. However, don’t expect the cool villain to show up and break the ice in the event. Lois Lane is heading to The Arrowverse!!! Today we have word from the Hollywood trades that actress Elizabeth Tulloch will be stepping into the reporter’s shoes for this fall’s Arrowverse crossover. The crossover is a huge three-night event, covering The Flash on Sunday, December 9th, Arrow on Monday, December 10th, and Supergirl on Tuesday, December 11th. The Flash has a new villain coming to Central City and he’s bound to have the team in knots. According to TV Insider, America’s Got Talent alum Troy James has been cast to play Rag Doll. Due to a family emergency, Brent Spiner, who was originally cast as Vice President Baker for Supergirl, has had to pull out of the role. So a second sci-fi legend, Bruce Boxleitner, will take over the role for the show. Supergirl premieres Sunday, October 14th on The CW.
