SHAZAM! Gets a Composer; Director Talks Dr. Sivana’s Origin and Black Adam
Today, we have a few news bits related to New Line Cinema’s DC film, Shazam!, which was a highlight at the studio’s San Diego Comic-Con panel last weekend. First up, Film Music Reporter confirms that composer Benjamin Wallfisch is scoring Shazam! for director David F. Sandberg. He has worked on Sandberg’s two other feature films, Lights Out and Annabelle: Creation, so this latest collaboration makes sense. Wallfisch’s other credits include Blade Runner 2049 (working alongside Hans Zimmer) and next year’s Hellboy reboot. Meanwhile, Sandberg has talked about his movie’s approach to villains. Jaw-Dropping AQUAMAN Trailer Surfaces at San Diego Comic-Con
As promised, Warner Bros. premiered the first trailer for DC’s Aquaman at its San Diego Comic-Con panel today. The trailer gives fans a long-awaited first look at footage from the film, and needless to say, it doesn’t disappoint. Check it out below, and stay tuned for more as we have it. Aquaman is scheduled to hit theaters on December 21st. Ever since Justice League hit theaters last year, fans have campaigned tirelessly for Warner Bros. to release Zack Snyder’s original cut of the movie. It’s no secret by now that Shazam! takes place in DC Films’ shared universe, which includes Justice League and more movies. SHAZAM! Covers Entertainment Weekly’s Exclusive SDCC 2018 Issue
Entertainment Weekly has revealed its second San Diego Comic-Con 2018 cover, which will be available exclusively online and at the convention. This cover brings DC Films’ next big hero to the spotlight. The cover features Zachary Levi suited up as the titular hero in Shazam!, which will be part of Warner Bros. and DC’s panel this Saturday. The magazine also has some quotes from Levi, who pitches the film as “Superman Meets Big.” He also says that, unlike many modern superheroes, Billy Batson will actually love being a hero and can’t wait to use his powers. Production began last week on the highly anticipated Wonder Woman sequel, titled Wonder Woman 1984. The announcement included a couple first-look images, one of which confirmed Steve Trevor’s return. Now, we have another new still. Star Gal Gadot shared a new image on Twitter, featuring her in the iconic Wonder Woman costume. While most superhero costumes tend to change with every other movie, Wonder Woman’s has remained consistent, and 1984 is no exception.
