Birds of Prey looks to be moving fast over at Warner Bros. We recently got word of who WB is considering for the roles of Huntress and Black Canary, but now we might have some story details. Batman’s rogues gallery is one of the best in comics.With characters like Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze, Bane, and of course the Joker, it’s easy for us to forget some one the lesser known baddies. As Warner Bros. continues to restructure its DC Films slate, yet another title has been put into development. 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox scribe Oren Uziel has been hired to write a new movie starring Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl. The project is in very early development (directors aren’t being approached yet), but this comes at an interesting time for Superman on film. Ben Affleck Still Involved; Matt Reeves Gives an Update on THE BATMAN
There have been lots of rumors and speculation regarding the standalone Batman movie directed by Matt Reeves. He participated at the TCA-panel (Television Critics Association) where he promoted his mid-season drama The Passage on Fox, where he got asked some questions regarding his DCEU-project The Batman. He revealed that he will send in a draft in two weeks: “We are working on getting our draft [in] the next couple weeks,” Reeves said. “Right now, my head is totally into the script. Quantico star Priyanka Chopra is in talks to join Universal’s Cowboy Ninja Viking, starring Chris Pratt and directed by Michelle MacLaren. If a deal closes, Chopra will play Sara Nix, a psychologist who monitors Duncan (Pratt) and may or may not develop feelings for him. Post- and mid-credits scenes are becoming more and more common in blockbuster films. But while Suicide Squad and Justice League had additional scenes, DC Films’ other three titles did not. Thus, fans have wondered if we should expect more movies to follow suit. And if this new report is to be believed, DC’s next movie will do it. Welcome back to Movie News Bits! We’re talking about The Last Days of American Crime, Marvel, and DC! Edgar Ramirez is in talks to star in the Netflix original The Last Days of American Crime. The thriller is going to be directed by Olivier Megaton(Taken, Colombiana), and is written by Karl Gajdusek(Oblivion, exec producer Stranger Things). Ramirez will star as Graham Bricke, a career criminal whose big break comes with a femme fatale and her boyfriend, but it turns deadly. We’ve heard a lot about The Batman in various rumors and reports from other sites, but very little directly from Warner Bros. or DC. Matt Reeves has been writing away, while Ben Affleck is looking increasingly unlikely to reprise the role. Now, a new report sheds some light on Reeves’ approach to the film, as well as when we can expect production to begin. After the debacle that occurred when Christopher McQuarrie and Star Wars director Rian Johnson started a conversation on Twitter, the Mission: Impossible – Fallout director came out saying that he lost interest in doing a comic book movie.
