Following the success of Runaways, Marvel Television and Hulu are expanding their partnership in a big way. The two have announced a slate of adult animated shows. There will be four ongoing shows and a special animated event – a deal that doesn’t sound too different from the original Marvel/Netflix deal. Robert Downey Jr. to Produce Vertigo Comic Adaptation SWEET TOOTH for Hulu
The Iron Man himself is set to play in the DC Comics sandbox. Not as an actor though (although who knows at this point?). Robert and his wife’s Susan production company called Team Downey and Jim Mickle are working on an adaption on Sweet Tooth for Hulu. Often known as Bambi meets Mad Max, Sweet Tooth is a comic published by DC Comics through their Vertigo imprint. Kerry Washington to Produce and Star in OLD CITY BLUES
Kerry Washington (Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer) will both star in and produce Old City Blues for Hulu. The news is coming from The Hollywood Reporter and will be Washington’s second Hulu original series. Old City Blues was a comic book published by Giannis Milonogiannis in 2011. The series is set in the year 2048. It takes place in Athens featuring high-tech criminals and corrupt politicians. Chris Black (Outcast) will serve as the showrunner while Allison Davis will pen the script. Our First Look at Marvel's RUNAWAYS is Here
During New York Comic-Con we got our first looks at Marvel’s latest project, Runaways. The Hulu original is based on the comic of the same name. It focuses on super-powered children having to take down their evil parents. Check out the trailer below!
