Despite being a major financial success in 2016, Warner Bros. has taken its time with making a sequel to Suicide Squad. The film was originally set to begin production this fall, before being pushed back to accommodate the cast’s busy schedules. Then, it was delayed even more when WB prioritized Birds of Prey, starring Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, which will begin production early next year. But, it looks like we have some new details. Two More Writers Working on SUICIDE SQUAD 2
It’s been a while since we got an update on the Suicide Squad sequel. Originally set to begin production this fall, the film was pushed back to accommodate for Harley Quinn spinoff Birds of Prey. But now, we have word of two new writers who have been added to the team. Writer/actor Todd Stashwick has told DC Movie News (via Batman-News) that he is working on the Suicide Squad 2 script, alongside David Bar Katz and director Gavin O’Conner. Jared Leto is Developing His Own Joker Movie Now
Following Jared Leto’s debut as Joker in Suicide Squad, fans have been wondering when we’d see him pop up next. There has been talk of Leto returning for a Harley Quinn vs. Joker movie, Gotham City Sirens, and/or a Suicide Squad sequel. After considering several Harley Quinn-centric projects, Warner Bros. is now moving ahead with Margot Robbie’s spinoff, to be directed by Cathy Yan.
