Netflix played the role of grim reaper last year, suddenly ending most of its Marvel television slate. Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and Daredevil all got the axe, while The Defenders was never meant to continue beyond one season. Full Trailer for THE PUNISHER Season 2 Released
Netflix has released the first full trailer for its latest Marvel installment, a whole eight days before it drops. The second (and final?) season of The Punisher marks Frank Castle’s return to vigilantism, as he takes on new enemies and the returning Billy Russo. Marvel’s The Punisher was a hit on Netflix back in 2017, with a second season being ordered shortly afterwards. TV News Bits: THE WALKING DEAD, WATCHMEN, THE PUNISHER, LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY
AMC’s The Walking Dead is heading into its ninth season this fall, and the show is adding two new regulars to the cast. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Avi Nash and Callan McAuliffe have been upgraded to series regulars. The two joined the show as Siddiq and Alden, respectively, during season eight. The Walking Dead returns in October with new showrunner Angela Kang. HBO is bringing Watchmen back to life, and this news suggests it’ll happen sooner than later. According to Production Weekly (via ComicBook), the show’s working title is “Brooklyn.” This suggests that the show will be beginning production soon. Netflix Releases SDCC Posters for Marvel's THE DEFENDERS and THE PUNISHER
Marvel and Netflix’s The Defenders will be among the shows present at San Diego Comic-Con next week. Today, Entertainment Weekly premiered a new poster for the series, along with the first poster for the next Marvel/Netflix show, The Punisher. Drawn by Marvel TV Creative Director Joshua James Shaw, the colorful Defenders poster features Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist standing side-by-side. Meanwhile, like past Netflix shows, Marvel’s Joe Quesada drew the Punisher poster, featuring a bloody Frank Castle. SDCC attendees can get their copies of both posters; for details on how, click HERE. The Defenders releases on August 18th on Netflix. The Punisher premieres sometime this year.
