Over a month in theaters, and Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok is still going strong at the box office. This weekend, the sequel surpasses a key domestic milestone. Per Box Office Mojo, the film has now passed $300 million in North America, making it the sixth highest grosser of the year. Its worldwide total is now $833.2 million, surpassing Wonder Woman as the third biggest superhero movie of the year. Today, we have this weekend’s box office update for Justice League, which has finally passed a key box office milestone. Per Box Office Mojo, the DC film earned second place this weekend, grossing an estimated $9.5 million. This brings its domestic total to $212.1 million. SUPERGIRL and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Will Share Mondays at 8 Slot During Midseason
For midseason 2018, The CW is once again shaking up its DC TV schedule. Legends of Tomorrow is moving out of the Tuesdays at 9 PM EST slot, which will now be occupied by Black Lightning. Now, the network has announced its return date…but there’s a few twists. Supergirl will return on January 15th and will run for four weeks, but beginning on February 12th, the Mondays at 8 slot will be occupied by Legends of Tomorrow, which will run until April 9th. Fox Extends IMAX Deal for Three X-MEN Movies
20th Century Fox has expanded its deal with IMAX to show more upcoming blockbusters in this format. It was announced today (via Deadline) that the deal has been extended through 2019. The IMAX lineup includes three of the studio’s upcoming Marvel-based titles: New Mutants, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and Gambit. (No word on whether Deadpool 2 will be included.) Following Arthur Curry’s introduction in Justice League, the character will get a full origin story in next year’s Aquaman. Today, Entertainment Weekly has a first look at the upcoming DC film.
