The film grossed $103 million in its opening weekend, the biggest opening ever for a female-led superhero movie and for a female-directed movie. JUSTICE LEAGUE Multiverse Action Figures Revealed
Mattel is creating action figures based on DC Films’ Justice League, as part of its DC Multiverse line. Courtesy of the “Join the League” website, we now have a first look at these figures. The line will have figures of all six League members – Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg. Additionally, there’s a toy of the Batmobile for this line. Marvel Studios will begin production on its latest sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, later this summer. The CW Announces Fall Premiere Dates for New Arrowverse Seasons
All four of The CW’s current DC shows – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow – have been renewed for new seasons next fall. Anticipation is high for the next wave of DC TV, especially since all four seasons ended on exciting cliffhangers. Now, the network has announced the premiere dates of its fall slate, including its superhero shows. LUKE CAGE Season 2 Begins Production
After a very successful first season, Netflix renewed Marvel’s Luke Cage for a second season. Luke’s adventures continue in The Defenders crossover miniseries this year, but fans are still excited to see another standalone story for the Power Man. And now, it looks like production is underway. According to On Location Vacation, season two of Luke Cage began filming this week in New York City. As of Tuesday, it is shooting in studio at Broadway Stages in Brooklyn. Wonder Woman opened this past weekend with a big $103.3 million gross, and the film has been earning rave reviews from both critics and audiences. The Flash and Arrow recently concluded their third and fifth seasons, respectively, on The CW. As expected, Legends of Tomorrow will add new DC heroes to the Waverider Crew for its third season. After the (financial) success of Suicide Squad last year, Warner Bros. put a sequel into development, along with spinoff film Gotham City Sirens and maybe a Deadshot movie.
