Funko Officially Reveals Wave 2 of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES Pops
After a successful first wave last year, Funko is making more Pop! figures based on Batman: The Animated Series. We saw some conceptual artwork for the second wave a few months back, but now, the company has formally revealed them. This wave of figures will feature Bane, Clayface, Catwoman, Phantasm, Scarecrow, and Robot Batman. The latter will also have a Chase variant, which is a 1-in-6 rarity. The figures will hit stores in September. And as a bonus, Funko is also releasing a Batman ’66 Pop! Home ceramic mug. This will hit stores in August. WONDER WOMAN Grosses a Strong $103 Million in Opening Weekend
DC Films’ Wonder Woman was always expected to be a box office hit, as tracking expectations have gone higher and higher over the weeks leading up to release. The latest installment of the DC Extended Universe was originally expected to make $65-75 million in its opening weekend in North America, and this week, it went up to $95 million. The movie has also benefited from overwhelmingly positive reviews by both critics and the general audience; something that past DCEU entries didn’t have. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has been in theaters for about a month now, and the sequel has been another big moneymaker for the studio. BATMAN AND HARLEY QUINN Release Date and Bonus Features Confirmed
Warner Bros. Animation recently released the trailer for the next DC movie, Batman and Harley Quinn, an original story created by the legendary Bruce Timm. The film revolves around Harley Quinn teaming up with Batman and Nightwing to defeat Poison Ivy and, basically, save the world. Now, full details on the film’s release have been confirmed. Batman and Harley Quinn will be released August 15th on digital platforms and August 29th on Blu-Ray/DVD. The Blu-Ray also contains bonus features, including a sneak peek at the next DC animated title. SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING Soundtrack Details Announced
After his work on Doctor Strange, composer Michael Giacchino reteamed with Marvel to create the score for Spider-Man: Homecoming. The composer previously tweeted a sneak peek at his score, which recreates the iconic Spider-Man cartoon theme. Now, details on the soundtrack release have been confirmed, thanks to Film Music Reporter. The Spider-Man: Homecoming soundtrack will be released on July 7th, the same day as the movie.
