ARROW and LEGENDS OF TOMORROW Add New Recurring Characters
This week, we have a couple casting updates from the Arrowverse. First up, according to Variety, GLOW and Black Panther actress Sydelle Noel has landed a recurring role in Arrow‘s sixth season. She will play Samantha Watson, who is “…an FBI agent who will be investigating Oliver Queen’s connection to the Green Arrow.” Producers call Watson an intelligent woman with a no-nonsense attitude, and she won’t stop until the Green Arrow is exposed. No word on which episode Watson will first appear in, but the season has been filming for about a month now. Stay tuned for more updates we have them. DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is returning for a third season next fall. The season will focus on the Legends trying to repair the damage made to time in last year’s finale, while dealing with Rip Hunter’s newly established Time Bureau. Now, we have some details on the main villain(s) of the new season. TITANS Series Casts its Raven
Casting is now underway for Titans, the new live action series that will launch DC’s digital streaming service alongside Young Justice: Outsiders. The series, which unites several of DC’s younger heroes, is written by Akiva Goldsman, Greg Berlanti, and Geoff Johns. Today, the show has cast its first team member: Raven. According to Deadline, newcomer Teagan Croft has landed the role of Rachel Roth, aka Raven. The character is a series regular in Titans, which shouldn’t be surprising. SHAZAM Director David Sandberg Talks Research and Lighthearted Tone
It was recently confirmed that director David F. Sandberg will be taking the helm of New Line’s Shazam movie. The long-awaited adaptation will be the next DC film to shoot, with production expected to begin early next year for a 2019 release. Now, Sandberg gives us some hints on what to expect. The CW Announces Air Dates for the Next Arrowverse Crossover Event
In keeping with the annual tradition, The CW will reunite its four DC shows – Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow – for an epic crossover event. Today, at the summer Television Critics Association (TCA) tour, the network confirmed the air dates for the crossover. But, there’s a twist. Instead of going four nights in a row, The CW is doing a two-night event, with two shows each. On Monday, November 27th, the crossover event begins with Supergirl at 8 PM EST, followed by Arrow (which is formally moving to Thursdays this season) at 9 PM.
