It was recently announced that the world of Batman ’66 will return in a brand new animated movie, titled Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders. Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar will reprise their roles as Batman, Robin and Catwoman, respectively. The film arrives on home video this fall. Andrew Kreisberg Teases SUPERGIRL’s “More Traditional” Take on Superman
After being referenced countless times in the first season, Superman is finally coming to Supergirl. The Man of Steel, played by Tyler Hoechlin, will appear in the first two episodes of season two. Now, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has revealed new details on the show’s characterization of Superman. Funko Unveils Dorbz Figures for ARROW and THE FLASH
Funko may be best known for its Pop! vinyl figures, but the company has multiple separate product lines. Among these is a toyline called Dorbz; there have been several DC-related Dorbz lines, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. Now, The CW’s Arrow and The Flash are getting the Dorbz treatment. Today, Funko revealed on the Legion of Collectors blog that Dorbz figures based on The CW’s two biggest DC shows are on the way. The Rival is Coming to THE FLASH in Season 3
In the trailer for season three of The Flash, a new speedster wearing a black suit was glimpsed. Who is he? Fans assumed that he was Savitar, one of the season’s two big bads. However, Greg Berlanti confirmed that Savitar hasn’t even been cast yet, so it’s not him. But now, we have a name for this character, and he’s yet another evil speedster from the comics. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything on Warner Bros.’ Justice League Dark film, titled Dark Universe. Guillermo del Toro was attached to direct for a few years, but he eventually dropped out. Since then, we’ve heard a slew of director and casting rumors for the DC movie. In the meantime, an animated movie starring the supernatural team was announced for a 2017 release. FEATURE: Five Directors Who Should Be Considered for SHAZAM
Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s Shazam movie was confirmed a couple of years ago. Dwayne Johnson is attached to play villain/anti-hero Black Adam, with Darren Lemke writing the script. Since then, we’ve gotten occasional updates on the film, including confirmation that it will be set in the DC Extended Universe. (In case anyone had any doubt.) Suicide Squad is now in its third weekend of release. Despite negative reviews from critics, the DC film has been doing well at the box office. The other day, it crossed $500 million worldwide. ARROW Casts Wil Traval as the Human Target
DC Comics’ Christopher Chance, aka Human Target, previously headlined two television shows, both titled Human Target. The 1990s show starred Rick Springfield as the character, while the 2010 series starred Mark Valley. Now, a third version of Chance is coming to TV, this time on The CW’s Arrow. According to KSiteTV, Christopher Chance/Human Target is appearing on episode five of Arrow this season.
