Warner Bros. Appoints New President for DC Films
Last month, it was reported that Warner Bros. is undergoing another shakeup of its DC Films division, following Justice League‘s poor box office performance. Jon Berg would move on to another area in the studio, while Geoff Johns may have a smaller role going forward. Now, we have a new president. It has been announced New Line production executive Walter Hamada is moving to Warner Bros. to oversee DC Films and other comic book movies. He will work “closely” with Geoff Johns, who will also keep providing creative guidance to DC’s television shows and comics. The Hollywood Reporter adds that Hamada impressed Emmerich with his overseeing of New Line’s Shazam, which is…

WONDER WOMAN 2 Director Patty Jenkins Teases “Totally Different” Sequel
Following the massive success of DC’s Wonder Woman, Warner Bros. quickly put a sequel into development. Director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot will return for the new movie, which hits theaters on November 1st, 2019. Not much is known about the sequel yet, but it is rumored to be set in the 1980s. Now, we have some hints at what we should expect. Speaking with ET Canada, Jenkins says that Wonder Woman 2 will be very different from the first film; so much so, it’ll feel more like its own thing and less like a sequel. “We’re actually making a totally different film with a lot of the same,…

Five Actors Who Should Be Considered to Play the New Wolverine
While most other big superheroes have been played by multiple actors, only one man has played Wolverine. Hugh Jackman gave his all to the character for 17 years, and he retired from the role in last year’s Logan. However, fans have wondered how long Fox would let the character rest. Sure enough, with Disney’s acquisition underway and the X-Men joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there is interest in recasting the character. As difficult as it may be to replace Jackman, Wolverine is going to come back to the big screen sooner or later. And, like every superhero before him, there will be a new actor playing him. Below, we list…

Looks Like JUSTICE LEAGUE is Coming to iTunes This Month
Justice League has been out for about a month and a half now. We all know by now that the box office results have been disappointing; in fact, it likely won’t break even. However, we may now know when the film will be available on digital platforms. The iTunes pre-order page (via Batman-News) says that Justice League will be available on Tuesday, January 23rd. That’s about two months after the film’s theatrical release; a smaller window than usual for these movies. Additionally, movies typically go on iTunes and other digital stores at least a couple weeks before the Blu-Ray/DVD release, so if this date is accurate, then Justice League will…

BLACK PANTHER Runtime Possibly Revealed
We’re only a month away from the release of Marvel Studios’ next blockbuster, Black Panther. The film’s marketing campaign is expected to heat up soon, with some sort of sneak peek airing on ESPN’s College Football National Championship next week. Now, we may know the movie’s runtime. Event Cinemas lists the runtime for Black Panther as 2 hours and 15 minutes (or 135 minutes). It’s unconfirmed if this is the final runtime, but if it is, it wouldn’t be shocking. The last three Marvel movies (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok) all had runtimes of 130+ minutes, so for the next movie to have a similar…

JUSTICE LEAGUE Finally Passes $650 Million Worldwide
We’ve talked before about just how underwhelming Justice League‘s box office has been. It is supposed to be the biggest DC movie yet, with a $300 million budget and a cast of the company’s biggest characters. However, it is expected to be the lowest grossing DC Films title to date. This weekend, Justice League finally passed one box office benchmark. According to Box Office Mojo, the movie has currently grossed about $225.6 million domestically and $427 million internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $652.6 million. Gitesh Pandya projects that Justice League will finish somewhere in the $660 million range, just below Man of Steel‘s $668 million. It’s also noticeably below…

Mid-Season Recap: ARROW Season 6
We’re back to talk about Arrow season six! We last left off, with Oliver getting [mostly] everyone off of Lian Yu, Slade going on a quest to find his son, and Green Arrow’s identity being revealed. A reminder that this is a spoiler recap so come back later if you’re not caught up. We also can’t cover every single detail. If I miss anything (likely) sorry in advance. So with that out of the way – let’s get into it. Ollie has to deal with being under investigation as his identity was revealed in the previous episode. The show episode ends with the picture being fake, but that doesn’t stop Agent…

X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Will Revolutionize the Superhero Genre, Says Sophie Turner
The main X-Men series returns for a new (and final?) installment next fall with Dark Phoenix, the second adaptation of the beloved story arc. We recently read Entertainment Weekly’s coverage, which teased the film’s emotional stakes and 1990s setting. Now, we have some more details on the movie’s ambitions. Speaking with Empire Magazine (via X-Men Films), Dark Phoenix star Sophie Turner speaks very highly of the film, saying that it’ll take the superhero genre to new heights. “We are revolutionizing it. We wanted to create a whole new genre of superhero movie.” As for how it compares to past X-Men films, Turner says it’s a “dark, gritty drama.” Turner also has nothing…

Confirmed: KRYPTON is Not Set in the DC Films Universe
Early on in development of Krypton, fans speculated that the SyFy series would be a prequel to Man of Steel and, thus, the greater DC Films Universe. This was fueled by writer/producer David Goyer saying that the show takes place 200 years before Man of Steel, along with some visuals in the trailer that looked similar to the movie. However, turns out there is no real connection. ComicBook has confirmed with SyFy that Krypton will not take place in DC Films’ shared universe. Also, don’t expect it to connect to other Superman-related projects, such as The CW’s Supergirl. It is very much its own thing. With Krypton in its own universe, it…
